NBC's schedule starts with Division Series games in prime time, on Tuesday, Oct. 1 (8 p.m. ET) with the Rangers at Yankees; Friday, Oct. 4 (8 p.m. ET) Yankees at Rangers; and Saturday, Oct. 5 (7:30 p.m. ET) St. Louis at San Diego. .
NBC will then feature exclusive live coverage of the American League Championship Series, a best-of-seven playoff with a berth in the World Series at stake, beginning Tuesday, Oct. 8.
Ten-time Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Bob Costas will handle the play-by-play on all NBC telecasts, and will be joined by analysts Joe Morgan and Bob Uecker. Jim Gray will handle reporting duties.
NBC will present full coverage of the best-of-seven American League Championship Series, beginning on Tuesday, Oct. 8 (8 p.m. ET). Five of the seven games are scheduled to be telecast in prime time.
Last October, NBC returned to Major League Baseball's postseason for the first time since 1989, as coverage of the Division Series, the American and National League Championship Series and the World Series was shared with ABC. NBC had previously televised either the World Series or the League Championship Series from 1947 -- when the World Series was on television for the first time -- through 1989.
