Moon watching
The MoonOur Moon is too often overlooked, but there is much to see on Earth's satellite that will delight both beginners and experienced astronomers. Read Brian Hall's March 1995 article Moon watching from the Astronomy Now archives. Look out for more electronic reprints from the AN Archives in the near future.

Moon probe arrives
The Lunar Prospector spacecraft, NASA's first mission to the Moon since the Apollo era, slipped into Lunar orbit Sunday morning. The low-cost probe is to spend a year orbiting the Moon analysing the surface composition and looking for signs of frozen water at the poles.

Future Mars missions
The Pathfinder mission may be over, but NASA is planning an armada of spacecraft to explore the Red Planet, culminating in a soil return mission in 2005. See the future mission page in Astronomy Now Online's Destination Mars section.
