The book incarnation of
"Postal", like the product itself, is
anything but ordinary. This is no "tips and
hints" book, full of game strategy and special
codes. Instead, it is an exploration of the world in
which "Postal" is set, and the larger
history of the postal phenomenon itself.
Learn the background of the
"Paradise Postal Dude" who seemingly goes
insane and indulges in the most extensive killing
spree in American history. And what about all those
Militia and Waco-related pamphlets the police found
in his home? Is he a madman, or a man on a mission?
Despite the Postal Dude's
seemingly random trail of destruction, there's a
method to his madness; learn how his route evolves
from point to point, and get the complete details on
each murderous milestone from on-location and
remote-based media analysts as well as the Postal
Dude's own diary.
Learn about the military's
possible involvement in the entire "Postal"
affair, and the subsequent fate of the Paradise
Postal Dude. Much of the game's backstory was buried
so as not to slow down the game-playing experience;
the book or books, however, go behind the scenes to
tell the entire story of the deadliest day in
Paradise.
The book is co-authored by the re-united
tandem of Bill Kunkel & Arnie Katz, who will also
be contributing material to the game's inter-level
cut scenes. Kunkel & Katz invented electronic
gaming journalism, creating the first national review
column in "Video" magazine back in 1978,
and produced the world's first newsstand video and
computer game publication, "Electronic
Games" magazine in 1981 for Reese
Communications.
