New Technology/Library Building
Champlain College will add an exciting new building to its campus, breaking ground in the spring of 1997 with a completion date of February, 1998. The Information Commons will integrate the resources of a traditional library with a wide range of advanced technologies including worldwide electronic databases, multi-media labs, campus-wide computer networks, on-line distance learning systems, electronic classrooms and technologies yet to be invented. From the outside the Information Commons will blend with the historic architecture of the campus and neighborhood. But pass through the doors and you will enter the world of the future, a comfortable place filled with the technology that will allow Champlain College students access to information around the world, instantly! The Information Commons will be the model for the way people will acquire knowledge, collaborate and perform their jobs in the future.
