- March 5, 1998, SVASE featured a panel comprised of five of SRI Consulting's leading domain experts speaking on "SRI'S Technology Roadmaps: Bringing the future into focus." Eric Elias, from SRI Consulting's Business Intelligence Program talked about the future of Internet transaction and payment systems, including micropayments, SET, and SSL. Michael Gold, Media Futures Project talked about information infrastructure and telecommunications developments. Mitch Halpern, Advanced Materials spoke on physical foundations for advances in next-generation computing. Marcello Hoffmann, TechMonitoring talked about high-level applications, especially software for knowledge-management and collaborative online activity. Bob Jacobson, Electronic Commerce talked about what remains to be done, to effect e-commerce in the early 21st Century.
