VPCE - The PC-Engine emulator

This part is about the Unix versions of VPCE, the PC-Engine emulator.

News

Version 0.3f is out.

Changes in version 0.3f are:

FreeBSD version can play sound.
More OS supported : NetBSD, OpenBSD and GNU Hurd !!!
If you hear sound intermittently, try to use sound prolongation factor.
4 bit PseudoColor is supported. (You can run VPCE on XF86_VGA16,...)
Key assignment is slightly changed.

About the emulator

VPCE is a emulator for the NEC PC-Engine console. There are versions for MS/DOS, Unix, Windows and MacOS, and there are versions for RiscOS and BeOS in development.

The authors of this version are:

IRIX 5	0.3f (75692 bytes) [sound is not supported]
IRIX 4	0.3f (161075 bytes) [sound is not supported]
Solaris 2	0.3f (72336 bytes)
SunOS 4	0.3f (77298 bytes)
FreeBSD	0.3f (42139 bytes)
NetBSD	0.3f (41949 bytes)
OpenBSD	0.3f (40959 bytes)
GNU Hurd	0.3f (66046 bytes) [sound is not supported]
HP-UX 10.x	0.2 (43157 bytes) [sound is not supported]

They are dynamically linked, the Linux versions support the Linux joystick and the FM-Towns joypad.

Nemesis emulator for UNIX

This is nemesis emulator ported to UNIX with X-Window system. It is based on Nemesis arcade emulator (Windows) v0.5.
