Materials:  Size 10 Corchet Cotton.  Small amount of desired color and leaf color.  Size 8 crochet hook. Suffing (1-2 cotton balls) Magnet

Center Bud:  Do not join rnds unless told to do so.  Use a small peice of contrasting color to make beginning of rnd.[Image]

Rnd 1:  Ch 2, 5 sc in 2nd ch form hook. (5) pull begginning tail tight to make hole small. Rnd 2:  Work 2 sc in each st around (10) Rnd 3:  Hdc in next st, dc in next 9 sts.  Rnd 4:  Work 2 dc in each st around (20)

Rnds 5 and 6:  Dc in each st around.  Rnd 7:  Dc in nex 18 sts, hdc in next st, sc in next st (20)Lightly stuff.  Rnd 8:  (Dec 1 sc over next 2 sts)10 times (10)

Rnd 9:  (Dec 1 sc over next 2 sts) 5 times, leaving a length for sewing.

With needle and remaining length of cotton, gather last round.  Do not break off and set aside.

Petals (make 3)

Row 1:  ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 6 chs, 5 dc in last ch (center top of petal), working on oppositie side of foundations chm, dc in next 6 chs, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, turn (21)

Row 2:  Ch 1, sc in sc, hdc in hdc, dc in next 6 dc, hdc in hdc, sc in sc, turn, (28)

Row 3:  ch 1, sc in sc, hdc in hdc, dc in next 10 dc, 2 dc in each next 2 dc, dc in next 10 dc, hdc in hdc, sc in sc turn. (28)

Row 4:  Ch 1, sc in each next 18 sts, fasten off, weave in ends.  Sew pettals to the bottom of bud.

Sepal:

Rnd 1:  With green leaf color, ch 5, join to form a ring, ch 2, 11 hdc in the ring, sl st to join in top of beg ch2, (12)

Rnd 2:  *ch 8, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in next ch, sc in each next 2 chs, hdc in each nex 3 chs, sk 1 hdc of rnd 1, sl st in next hdc, rep from * around, leaving a length of cotton for sewing to bottom of rose.  Fasten off.  hide and clip all ends,  glue magnet onto back.

Small ball 100% cotton thread (size 10) Steel crochet hook, size 8 USA Finishing materials: 1/3 yard flat lace, 1/4yard narrow ribbon, 2 small flowers (sunflowers or daisies) Glue

Molding materials:

Commercial fabric stiffener,Plastic wrap, Ironing board, styrofoam base or cardboard Rust proof pins 1 1/2" styrofoarn ball, cut in half.

Finished Size: approx. 3 1/2" in diameter

Gauge: 2 rows= 1/2"/ 6 dc = 1 1/2"

Crown:

Ch 4; join with a slip st in first chain to form a ring.

Rnd 1) Ch 3, (counts as first dc, now and throughout), I 1 dc in ring; join with a slip st to first dc: 12 dc.

Rnd 2) Ch 3, d@ in same st; * 2 dc in next dc; repeat from * around; join with a slip st to first dc: 24 dc.

Rnd 3) Ch 3, dc in game st, dc in next dc; * 2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc; repeat from around- join. with a slip st to first dc: 36 dc.

Rnd 4) Ch 3; * dc in next dc; repeat from * around; join with a slip st to first dc.

Rnd 5) Ch 1, sc in same st; sc in next dc; repeat from * around; join with a slip st in first sc.

Brim:

Rnd 6) Ch 3, 2 dc in same st; skip 2'.sts, ch 2, 3 dc in next st; repeat from * around;join with a slip st to first dc: 12 groups.

Rnd 7) Ch 3, 2 dc,.Iin next dc, dc in next dc, ch 2; * skip next space, dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in nex@ t dc, ch 2; repeat,from * around; join with a slip st to first dc.

Rnd 8) Ch 3, (2 dc in next dc) twice, dc in next dc, ch 4; * dc in next dc, (2 dc in next dc) twice, dc in next dc, ch 4; repeat from * around; join with a slip st to first dc.

Rnd 9) Slip st in next dc, ch 2, dc in next 2 dc, hdc in next dc, slip st in next dc, 3 sc in next space; * slip st in next 2 dc, ch 2, dc in next 2 dc, hdc in next dc, slip st in next dc, 3 sc in next space; repeat from * around; join with a slip st in base of first st. Fasten off, secure ends.

Finishing:

Cover ironing board top, styrofoam base or cardboard with plastic wrap. Cover styrofoatn ball half with plastic wrap. Dip hat in stiffening solution and gently squeeze out excess being careful not to twist or wring the piece. Place over prepared styrofoam ball half and straighten the design. Pin in place and let dry thoroughly. After hat has dried, decorate with lace ribbon and flowers.

*Booties Fridgie*  by Geri Hess

Materials:  Sport or baby yarn.  1/4 " ribbon, size G hook.  

Make 2:  Ch 8, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook.  Sc in each ch across, 4 sc in last ch, sc in each ch along back of ch.  Work 2 more sc in last ch, sl st to join.

Rnd 2:  (starting at heel)  ch 2, hdc in same st., hdc in next 5 sts, hdc dec in next 4 sts, hdc in  next sts around.

Rnd 3:  Ch 1, sc in next 5 sts, work 4 dc dec around toe.  Sc in next sts around.

Rnd 4:  Eyelet rnd, ch 4 skip *1 st dc in next* around, join with sl st at top of ch 3.  Rnd 5:  *ch 4 sc in ch 1 space* around.  Join with sl st and fasten off.  Weave in ends.

Finishing:  stuff lightly.  weave ribbon through eyelet round and tie in bow at front.  Glue two booties together at sides and glue magent to back across heels.


Eagle Fridgie

MATERIALS: Sport yarn-small amount each brown, white, yellow and black; Poly- fiberfill and G hook, 2 small wiggley eyes.[Image]

FINISHED SIZE: 4" tall.

Work in continuous rnds; do not join or turn unless otherwise stated. Mark first St of each rnd. Tighten beginning tail to make hole smaller.

HEAD

Rnd 1: With white, ch 2, 6 SC in 2nd ch from hook (6 SC). Rnd 2: 2 SC in each St around (12).

Rnds 3-6: SC in each St around. At end of last rnd, join with sl St in first SC.  Stuff Lightly.  Rnd 7: sc-dec around, 6 sc.

Glue on wiggley eyes 3/8" apart.

BODY change to brown. Rnd 8: 2 SC in each St around (12).  Rnd 9: (SC in next St, 2 SC in next St) around (18).  Rnds 10-15: SC in each St around. Stuff Lightly.  Rnd 16-bottom: Sc-dec around til hole is closed. Fasten off and weave in ends.

BEAK with yellow

Row 1: With No. 2 steel hook and gold, ch 4, SC in 2nd ch from hook, SC in each ch across, turn (3 SC).

Row 2: Ch 1, SC first 2 sts tog, SC in last St, turn.  Row 3: Ch 1, SC next 2 sts tog.

Fasten off.

Fold in half lengthwise, sew tog. Glue row 1 of Beak to rnd 6 of Head centered below eyes.

WNG (make 2)

Row 1: Starting at bottom, with brown, ch 2, 2 SC in 2nd ch from hook, turn (2 SC).

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 SC in each St across, turn (4).

Row 3: Ch 1, 2 SC in first St, SC in each of next 2 sts, 2 SC in last St, turn (6).

Rows 4-7: Ch 1, SC in each St across, turn.

Row 8: Ch 1, SC first 2 sts tog, SC in each of next 2 sts, SC last 2 sts tog, do not turn.

Rnd 9: Working around outer edge, ch 1, SC in end of each row and in each St around, join with sl St in first SC. Fasten off.

Glue top 6 sts on 1 side of Wings at an angle over mds 4-7 on each side of Body.

TAIL

For center, with white, ch 7, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each of next 3 ch; for tip, 3 hdc in last ch; continuing on opposite side of ch, hdc in each ch across, join with sl St in top of ch 2 (12 hdc). Fasten off.

For side, with white, ch 7, hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each ch across. Fasten off. With center overlapping sides, sew 1 side piece to each side of center.

Glue tail to rnd 9 on back of body centered between wings.

CLAW (make 1)

Gold, *ch 3, (sl st, ch 2, sl st, ch 2, sl st) in 3rd ch from hook* repeat twice. Fasten off. Glue to rnd 10 on front of body. Glue twig or pipe cleaner to back of claws.

Glue magnet on back.
