HUACHUCA CITY — Huachuca City voters have rejected a recall of Mayor Byron Robertson, with nearly half of all ballots cast in his favor, according to unofficial election results on Tuesday.

With only six provisional ballots yet to be counted, Robertson received 140 votes, while David Perry and George Nerhan received 97 and 64 votes, respectively.

Folks are tired of recalls,” said Robertson, who himself was first elected to office two years ago when Nerhan, the previous mayor, was recalled.

kkaylor 10 - what speed traps are you talking about? Seems most drivers passing thru this town are speeding down the main highway just like they do running red lights exiting the fort and speeding along BST and the bypass. The police here and in Sierra Vista are both a joke sometimes.

What we need in HC is a stop light so those who live here can enter the highway and to slow down the heavy flow of speeding traffic. But then again, someone is bound to get hurt or killed by those running the red lights…

Instead of spending money on recall please give the man a one way ticket to anywhere USA.  The city does not need his issues or his contempt of the system and the people. ENOUGH is ENOUGH.

Title: Time

It is time to disolve this so called town! People over there are clueless. How much money would you all save if you did not try to recall every mayor you have always had?

I agree, the town is a joke, the PD is only there for speed traps, and some in the town council pout like little kids and are useless to the citizens. It should go away as a city and be unincorporated like Whetstone. Never happen though.

I think if you check you will find that Nerhan was not recalled two years ago. Nerhan survived the recall election however was not re-elected on a separate ballot  question.  There was only a short time left on his then current term.

I am proud of the people of Huachuca City for standing up to stop the recalls. The voters spoke last time but some guys just don’t get it.
