The break is over. Finally, the PC Data listing of gaming's top sellers places a non-furry animal title in the top spot as Brood War pushes down Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2 to position number two.

Deer Hunter II also sank to the fourth position as Interplay's Baldur's Gate took over the number three spot in its first showing on the list. Microsoft's flight sims have practically swapped positions as Combat Flight Simulator moves from the ninth to the fifth spot. Flight Simulator moved down from number five to eight. But a new deer hunting title is coming up from behind. Cendant's Deer Avenger shows up on the list at number ten.

And you'll notice that both Mattel's Barbie Riding Club and Barbie Photo Designer w/ Digital Camera have been wiped off the charts as was Hasbro Interactive's Wheel of Fortune.

Here are the top-selling PC titles (rank, title, publisher, average retail price) for the week of December 27, 1998 to January 2, 1999.
