Technical Support for Jagged Alliance 2

Please be sure to check under Common Technical Support Problems before proceeding.

1.  When I'm using the helicopter, occasionally the game crashes and says it's missing a file for character 97.

This error is corrected with the patch update for JA2 available from the Updates for Jagged Alliance 2 section of this site.

2. An error message appears: The file JA2.ICD is linked to a missing export
MSS32.DLL:_AIL_set_3D_sample_float_distances@20.

3.  Sometimes the game hangs when I'm entering the Rebel hideout or when cutscenes are playing.

4.  The game crashes when big explosions occur.

Go into Preferences and make sure that the Blood & Gore option is turned on.

5.  The game screen is smaller than my monitor screen.

If you do not already have a short cut on your desktop for JA2, create one. Right click once on the shortcut and left click once on Properties. Once in Properties, look towards the bottom for "Run". This will have a button for a drop down menu. Try setting this to Normal Window and click Apply. If that does not work, set it to Maximized.
