The OAS meetings, June 4-6th, will be confronted with non-violent direct action as protesters will be trying to shut down the meetings and bring attention to the FTAA's danger to working people and the environment in both the north and south.

are already trying to demonstrate that we should: (1) forego voting;

Do you wish you had time to write more letters protesting injustice?
Check out the Progressive Secretary,
they'll write and send letters
based on which issues you're conserned about. They're really cool, I've been using them for
a while and am really impressed with both the quality of the letters and politics behind them.
Protest.Net is a site to help progressive activists by providing a central place where the times and locations of protests and meetings can be posted. I can't possibly keep up with all the actions, so if you find about a protest or meeting, please post that information to protest.net.
Protest.Net has joined forces with ZNet, the online incarnation of ZMagazine, to bring more depth to the sites and do other cool stuff as it comes to mind, such as a ZNet branded protest.net. Check it out, I think it's pretty cool.
We are also working on a similar setup with IGC. The idea is that the websites you can find the protest.net activist calendars on the more people will find out about the activism that's really going on in this world. The media monopoly that shuts out dissenting views can be cracked. We need to rise up and seize the means of communication. If you know of other higher traffic websites like Z Magazine and IGC who would be interested in syndicating protest.net content, then by all means we'd like to talk.
The other thing I'm working on is expaning the news coverage service on the site. I've written some software to handel posting of articles, and other news. When I get around to it I'll include a way to automatically pull news from the various activist news mailinglists out there such as damn. You can add articles already and they'll be included in the news section.
Feel free to email me, rabble-rouser@protest.net if you have any questions or comments.
