  • Perl - most of our custom code is written in Perl, an awesome, quick way to code. It does everything!

  • Mosaic - this is what got us started.

  • Tcl/Tk/Tcl-DP - Graphical utilities, communication scripts and socket-based programs.

  • GNU Tool Suite - Emacs our editor of choice, gcc our compiler of choice, cool software.

  • FreeBSD - most of our web servers run FreeBSD.

  • Python - A powerful and simple scripting language. web development was never faster.

Individual Efforts

User feedback has made Yahoo! what it is today. The people who've contributed are too numerous to mention, but a few deserve special acknowledgement:
  • Ed Kubatis wrote the original version of the Random Yahoo Link script.
  • Paul Hoffman contributed valuable suggestions and feedback in reorganizing the Computers and Internet category.
  • Paul Burt supplied a wealth of friendly, useful information to help organize radio stations.
  • Scott Banister simplified the process of adding a URL to several internet catalogs including Yahoo!, by maintaining the service Submit It!.
