The Ghost of Kindle is a 15 min respawn. Rather refreshing after the huge respawns on a lot of the quest mobs out there.

Well by some miracle the Test Server was up long enough for Vessel to spawn. I invised in with a mage and we went to the room where you jump out of the water. The group leader stayed outside and invised everyone sending them in one at a time. Once they zoned in the mage used Call of the Hero to summon them to us and they disbanded so the leader outside could invite another. Rinse and repeat. It worked very well and we took him down very easily. It is a good idea to summon a Necro first so he can feed the mage mana to speed things up.

I spent a good part of the weekend combing every place I could think of in and around FV.

I did find something interesting. If you talk to the Sargeant at the entrance to the 'collapsed tunnel', he will tell you that the drolvargs need to be killed (which is an old quest) he will say they even got his sibling. If you ask him about his sibling he will tell you his brother Marltek disappeared. I do not know if this is a new part to what he says or not. I checked on the various quest spoiler sites and none of them listed the part about his brother.

I am at work so I don't have the log of the conversation. Maybe someone else could talk to him and post it so people could see if they felt it was linked.

I will continue my search but this part seems to have us stumped.

Ok folks, we are very close to completion here.

The fact that Mizzle tells us that he fears the scroll might be lost for good and that it was penned by elves long ago tells me two things. 1) That we will almost definately need to get a new one penned, and 2) That to do so will probably on one of the old continents in either Felwithe or Neriak. I'm thinking at the very least it's worth a shot to scour these zones and try key phrases about the scroll.

Re: Mizzle's "lost scroll" .. I was digging through some of the text for clues.

"I *fear* it has been lost for good" - Fearplane?

Jeb calls Mizzle the master of "enlightened" magic. When you talk to Mizzle he asks if you want "true clarity." The lost scroll contains the incantation he'd use to "help you out." Perhaps the scroll is one of Enlightenment or C2? C2 makes no sense as the wench in FV hands them out. Enlightenment is a dropped spell though. /shudder

Enchantaro... I hit every NPC in felwithe with the very same thought in my head, about 3 days ago while qhue was camping the drovalrg thing in FV.. no luck i used about 10 different hotkeyed phrases.. I spose it is possible I missed the keyword, but i think it unlikely unless verant is truely out to screw it to us good =). Do not hesitate to try it yourself though I have been known to miss stuff before.. That post about fear is interesting though has anyone combed the ground in fear after a clearing to see if there is a scroll on the ground?... As for see invis .. I have a tobrins patch so I have see invis all the time.. havent come across anything yet.. I saw an item called scroll in a jar on a eqhackerz sight /shrug dont know where it came from but was only posted recently =)

Keep looking.....

This is just a idea I had so I thought I'd throw it out since we seem to be stuck on the lost scroll (maybe someone has mentioned this already):

Mizzle says 'I fear it may be lost for good.'

Perhaps this is just an obvious clue to look in plane of 'fear'?

Well, I think I'm clearing fear tonight(err, or hate, I'll find out when I log on :P) anyway, I'm in fear sometime in the next coupla days, so I'll get people to be on the lookout for anything on the ground, and I'll scour the zone myself after it's been cleared.

We cleared PoF just last week on Solusek Slow and didn't see anything on the ground. Granted, I was the only one looking, since that last sentence of Mizzle's has been eating at my brain for a week now, but nothing turned up.

One other thing to note, is why give us a bunch of info about FV raids and the protector if it's just laying on the ground in PoF? Makes no sense.

I've now exhausted pretty much all possibilities with Cabilis, Drolvargs (5+ hours camping), Felwithe scribes, Kelethin scribes, Dalnir (4 hours looking for talking NPC/clearing rares), and anything on the ground in FV. At this point I'm looking at 1 of 2 of the stronger theories - 1. Marltek is the protector, and we have to track him down, or 2. It needs to be re-scribed, but the scribe is still MIA... possibilities would be Neriak, or some lone NPC who is known for making scrolls and has yet to be found.

If I have time I'm going to look in cazic-thule, that's an old temple of fear, so it could be there too.

Well fellow enchanters, here are some thoughts on the scroll.
When mizzle says he fears it is lost for good doesnt mean that "it is lost for good", but that he thinks it might be, but unsure. It is still out there. When you say something is lost, doesnt mean that it is lying on the ground in this case, but that it is no longer in possesion of the known group(ie. I lost my scroll to a gnoll). When somone is lost, they are dead in this case. Scenario: person protecting(doesnt mean they have it on person) scroll, gets killed, killer takes scroll. What would you say knowing this(mizzle). It was lost along with its protector. I fear it is lost for good.
So...Find who killer is, and take back scroll. This way the scroll will be lost to them.
Another thought(although a long shot) is that he says "during" one of the raids on FV. This at first glance implies it was FV where it was lost. It could mean that it was lost "during" the time, not the place.
A note on that scroll of Ardivan, I am almost positive it is not the right scroll. When you read charasis tome, it mentions the scroll several times in the book. This particular scroll is not a spell, but the directions to the lost tomb built by Sathir Venril(sp). If you want to read the tomb yerself it is found off the widow mite that spawns after killing the "a dark elf spy" that spawns after killing Dorb B Dynn in North Ro. Need iksar to read it.
Just some thoughts hope it helps.

Illusion: Iksar sounds like something that was right under our nose all along and is probably it. Someone hail the NPC that gives the quest and see where they say they got it from. For all we know it could've been penned by the dark elves and lost on one of their raids on Firiona Vie. Too bad you can't de-scribe spells. I do remember that the spell when received had a very irregular name, and I never ID'd it. However, we _have_ had an illusion master (Modani) already give a quest, so having us find an illusion spell doesn't make that much sense. When Verant is obscure, they tend to mean the unlikely. They said Elves. Dark elves has to be it...imho

I'll go take a looksee if I get a chance.

While killing Dojorn in sky we saw a new (well to me) npc up there on isle 2 called, "A presence". Same as a shadowed man, no body no nothing, people tried to talk to it but nada, and when killed, nada. I did not get a chance to talk to it, so it may have something to so with us (or some other quest)

Just a little fyi, hope this isnt old news.

I just thought of something.

Mizzle talks of the scroll being lost along with it's protector in a raid on the Outpost in Firiona. The protectors there are WOOD ELVES. Perhaps the quest for this starts in Kelethin, or with one of the wood elf guards there.

I'm going to search Kelethin as soon as I can.

Oh, and the presense in sky is for the monk quest.

Ok stretching here! Just obsessing on the idea that its really a simple item once we figure it out.

Mizzle says: "The lost scroll contains the magical incantation I need to help you out. It was penned ages ago by the Elves. It was lost along with its protector during one of the raids on the Outpost in Firiona. I fear it may be lost for good."

*Nowhere* in here does it say that the protector was a Firiona-ite. What if the protector was one of the raiders? If he was killed/captured DURING the raid on FV, the scroll could now be in FV or in the possession of an NPC in FV.

I forget the spiel Gracie gives you when you ask her about spells, but its something along the lines of rare spells that have come into her possession.. she'll trade you blah blah.

Just a little logic to hopefully save people there spell scrolls (even though logic doesn't always come into play in this game).

If a scroll is lost for good, I doubt it means it's a scroll that is just handed out from a simple quest in the exact same outpost it was supposedly lost in, unless all the NPC's are extremely reluctant to talk to the other NPC's around them they would say to anyone I have a scroll and I need these things to get it, and someone would say, OOh, that's the lost scroll. Ya know what I'm saying? I doubt it's a spell scroll, other than the SMR we really have not had anything in this quest that is not new.

As for the actual lost scroll, I have no idea, perhaps it was lost during the raid, but wasn't actually taken, maybe it's still in FV, hiding somewhere.

actually, I like the idea of using the Clarity 2 scroll... has anyone tried that? If you look at what he says ie, "i bet you are looking for true clarity", and that the lost scroll "contains the incantation i need to help you out", that could be a clue...

and aren't all the 50+ spells scattered about kunark... I'm not 50+ myself (only 42) but I seem to recall something about them being lost...

Tempus, do you think "true clarity" might be a dropped SPELL in kunark (clarity II, boon, maybe gift of pure thought)? Sounds like a huge long shot...

I am having problems with the Wraith of Jaxiom in COM - can anyone offer explicit directions on where to camp for him?

If we apply logic to this (not that that necessarily helps with this game), then it doesn't make _any_ sense that we will find something named 'a lost scroll' . It's a scroll and it's lost, but it wouldn't be labeled as such. That'd be like finding some missing NPC named 'a missing NPC'...

This leads me back to think that the scroll (Ardin? I forget the name) that was found on the drolvargs near the outpost might well be it (assuming there's more than ONE person who can find/loot it). Someone else needs to find that scroll and try to read it, ID it, ask around about it, etc. until we can rule it out.

Just my 2cp.

...another thought on the "true clarity" thing... I'm betting that the staff ends up with a clickable 'group clarity' spell or some other form of clickable free clarity... similar to what the clerics ended up with (free rezing).

If the effect on the staff is a clickable group C2 then I'll shoot myself =(

Gads, thats even worse than it being a clickable melee buff.

The only spell I could think of that would save a lot of mana the way the Cleric staff does is a group super melee buff, but seeing as I don't want that I'm not going to advocate it, hehe. Maybe a mixture of c2 and melee buff would be nice as a clickable spell, that way you can use it on anyone including yourself.

I can't think of anything they could put on an effect that would be both useful and unbalancing.

Another long shot, but something I wouldn't put past Verant:

The scroll contains an incantation - so IMO a spell scroll is not too unbelievable, I'm leaning towards enlightenment, but yep it's a big chance to take. Anyways, maybe a new scroll has to be scribed - takes 200 skill in research and some lost pages/scroll parts scattered across the world.

Now, wouldn't that be fun
