Eep! I didn't even buy identify. Gotta go get it I guess. I killed doggy men for a couple hours but didn't see any named ones. There's lots of 'em in there so it's entertaining. I might start selling tickets to my doggy man deathmatches.

And nope nope, no scroll off the stuff in Kithicor that I could tell.

Just curious.

Also, slightly off topic, I have a thread going on the General Forums on the Everquest boards regarding the non-Kunark spell retrictions in "The Hole" and how they render enchanter's useless deep within that zone. The zone has these restrictions, yet is partly designed for the 51+ crowd.

I think taking a guess on the scroll is not as bad as taking a guess on the essence of ghost, at least the spoon doesn't come off a guy who only spawns after cazic is killed, it's in a low level zone.

Two items for this quest are just spawned on the ground, no killing, if you get a scroll, who cares if you lose the spoon, you might figure out the right scroll. Don't make it sound like making a mistake at this point is a huge burden, it's the easiest of all the sub quests so far, oh no you lost your spoon, be glad you weren't testing out giving a white dragonscale cloak to mizzle or something.

On a side note, I don't know if the spawn rate of Verina Tomb has been shortened, if it's random, or if someone petitioned a repop of neriak 3rd gate, but she was up only 24 hours after the servers came up the other day after the patch. Tangrin also spawns after at most 24 hours, but Vessel still seems to be 3 days.

P.S. One other thing, I really don't think we will be getting speed of the shissar on our "weapon". Seeing as the rogue weapon has a haste proc, and the bard weapon has a haste song, I'd venture to guess the tank weapons will all be haste buffs. Seeing as the cleric weapon has revivescence, ours will probably have unlimited charges of something we already have that uses a lot of mana, although I can't think of any spells off the top of my head, either that or a spell like one we already have but better or different. I like buffing people and making groups more effective than they would be without me, but to make an item with the sole purpose of helping only tanks fight better seems a little like rewarding other classes for us completing this quest. I can't possibly think of anything we could use or need to cast manaless from a weapon (maybe dictate *shrug*) but I really think speed of the shissar will be for monks or warriors.

What graphic do you guys think the enchanter item will be? The globe with oozing colors? The pelican head skull? Or the animated snake?

PS The scroll was lost on a raid on the outpost. A named rare drolvarg seems perfectly logical as the culprit.

Best guess at this point is the snake head, since we need that part from Fear...

I just want to give a hearty congrats and thank-you to all the enchanters working and sharing on this quest. It's an amazing show of teamwork, and I'm more proud than ever to be an enchanter.

I'm 99.9% positive it is the snake.

The comment about Shissar not being for us is a good point. As I sifted through EQMaps for a while, I noticed there are quite a few 'something something of the Shissar' items in VP and other places...perhaps Shissar truly is just a common term like Sarnak and not a part of our quest...although I was really looking forward to having that on a weapon of mine. My guild, bless their hearts, are being really patient with my requests for help camping something. It'd be great for the tanks who've helped me (especially one who has done every single itsy bitsy part with me, even the ink and paper parts) to get a little dog biscuit every time I am with them

On a side note...that cleric final mob is disturbing me. But I had a thought...since our quest requires *MUCH* more killing and raiding than the cleric or rogue one, perhaps they won't make our last turn-in result in an uber mob? God that would suck to have to restart...oh my god...

Just some useless theory..

Along the lines of uber end mobs, don't you think it would be logical that we have to kill Shissar himself in the end?
I mean we are putting together a rod to "harness" his power, and burning woods is a pretty big one with lots of room for an uber mob (lag monster).

Just a thought

It would be sweet if the effect on the FA weapon was Dictate, but I severely doubt it for some reason.

It kinda sucks because melee classes get an awesome dmg/dly ratio weapon, plus awesome stats, plus cool effects. Casters don't really benefit from the dmg/dly, so the stats will have to be outstanding, and the effect better be pretty damn good to compare with the other FA weapons.

But then again, who ever said FA weapons had to be relatively equal in power.

Just that it takes an aweful lot of effort to acquire it, especially if your not in a uber guild, for it to have an effect similar to level 56 Augment. But clerics got a level 56 spell, so we probably do get the haste buff.

Just a re-tip on the Hole.. where Earth Elemental allows some free-roaming despite con'ing note the following-

wandering crusaders seem to still see through it
after repeated hole raids (and faction hits) all elementals (and I imagine imps) will hate you enough to see through it

infact even that con messaging might work now.. I seem to remember one patch where some saw me dubious, a few more kills and it was bye bye nice elemental scouting.

so if you haven't done a lot in the Hole *unlike* me, you might still try some scouting.. just have a necro around for an inconvenient body yank and cleric if you cared about the xp.

too bad Kindle can't be multiquested.

Well speed of the shissar is basically aug 3 - problem is this effect says self only in the spdat....

So I am thinking we are unlucky and this is probably not our effect.

On the scroll thing.

You know when we do the tag team type quest where one group member turns in an item and you turn in the last one to get the final result? Have you noticed what the NPC says when you just turn in one or two of the four said items? Consider this...If you feel that the scroll you have is not the scroll Mizzle wants why don't you turn in the scroll first on its own and sees what he says? If he just says thank you then no lost. But if he says something like ahh you found the Lost Scroll I will need the other items as well...then BOOM you know its the scroll he is looking for. Just a thought. I wish you all good luck.

Time to answer some q's.

Shissar is not a person, it was an ancient snakelike race that the iksar rose up against and overturned.

This quest was purposely made non-multiquestable by making us combine our items in a sack, THEN turn in the item we make. I assume Mizzle requires the sack too, that's just common sense imho.

I think that Scroll of whatevermajig is probably the lost scroll. Would like more info from the original poster if possible. Also, if anyone has done Vessel Dronlin in Cabilis, would you mind posting a more helpful guide to him? The ones I have read are way too obscure or badly typed to be useful to me.

Those of you who have raided Chardok Prince, could you lend some advice on how to get past the room with the Judicators and such, both of my raids have abruptly ended there.

Although a longer route to the Vessel, this way isn't as confusing. Start by going into the teleporter in the Shaman guildhall. Once you're up top, turn LEFT and go into the tower. (this is the RIGHT hand tower if you were to face the entrance of guildhall from ground). Drop down all the ladders, and go down the hall straight, past the iksar NPC, turn right into the "brick" hall. Follow this around to the pit. Drop into the pit, go into the adjoining cave, and into the secret wall on the left hand side. Follow this tunnel around to some stairs on your right, go up them, and look right; you'll see a pit. Go into the secret wall BEFORE the pit, left hand side, and skirt around the pit. Continue on down this hall until you come into a small room, the beginning of the 1-way-wall maze area. Prep in this room, then go out into the maze, take your first right, a left, then he's inside the room on your right.

Hope that helps and doesn't confuse you more. I had to scout it out way in advance so that when my guys were ready, I could lead them there quickly and without any incidents or guard attacks.

The way we got to Vessel -

Zone in from FoB using the right tunnel ( not the left one ).

Run straight past the 2 troopers, then go through the hole on the right ( the one w/ the FoB sign ), then turn left. ( Basically puts you into the city instead of that rocky tunnel area ).

Run straight out from there, you'll see water and a bridge that leads off to your right. The walkway makes you turn left, else you'll dump into the water. There are usually 1 or 2 Crusader's here. When we did, one crusader saw invis and we ended up having to kill both of them. They have *godly* HP. It took us 10 to 15 minutes to kill them, could not touch them with a single spell.

Anyways, there's a stairway leading down to the water right there. Jump off it, turn around and face the stair way and swim under it.

It will force you to make a right turn, then a left, another right, and another left.

You'll see an opening in the water above you, jump up ( using the method about looking straight up and pushing forward, took some of my group awhile to get up there. )

The only way to go from here is a small tunnel.

Go straight through the tunnel till it makes you go left or right. Turn right, it'll force you to turn left and put you into an octoganal room. If you look to the right, you'll see Vessel.

The first time, our cleric went afk w/out telling us, so it turned into a disaster.

Second time, with 9 people, we toasted him with only 1 death.

Now onto raiding Chardok...

Personally I would hope that if we did get a haste spell as a proc that it would be group haste! Now that would be cool...

the scroll problem is kicking our a$$es. I wish I could do more. Hopefully this weekend I can get into play-until-I-drop-dead mode. 24 straight hours! yeah baby yeah!

still 27 tho'

I'll be in Kunark I will keep my eyes open for any talk about scrolls.

About Vessel, you can get to him thru the shaman guild, but I prefer to go a way that doesn't have me, and several others who might have invis drop at any time, run past several lvl 60 shaman guild masters. So I suggested the waterway, make a newbie iksar to check it out, it's really simple. And nothing in the tunnels will kill or even attack an iksar except skeletons(lvl 1), and drops if you go the wrong way.

About the prince, since the castle needs to be cleared rather quickly we opted to have all our mages and wizards use ae spells and our enchanters just used chain ae stuns, and we hardly had any deaths at all.

note: BRING A ROGUE, we kinda didn't and found out at the end that the prince is behind a locked door. It's a little bit of a slow down to find a rogue and get them down there.

One good thing about letting people use ae spells is they hardly ever get to and some are much better for mana, so they will usually jump at the chance.

i camped that castle area in FV thats built into the zone wall for quite a few hours today and nothing showed, can you get a more exact location of the named drolvarg and its name? if the mob is that rare i would certainly hope they wouldnt put it on a greeny camp like that area, my shm friend and i alone were pulling 12 mob trains and wiping them out easily ourselves just for fun to pass time. /sigh

Prince - We usually take 18-24 for him. That's a rough area, need good teamwork and a lot of people. Rogue is required. The sheer numbers let you mow through some of the larger pulls. Go slow the first time, have a high level pull, if you constantly get very large pulls consider feign/chain pulling or death pulling if you have to :P

Scroll - I don't think anyone is asking anyone to turn it in... just ID it. If it doesn't ID as "The lost scroll" it's not it I bet. It's not unreasonable to think that it might have a different name than ID, even though the other items for this part don't follow the same pattern.


We cleared to the guy in the hole tonight... wow, I hate that place. Random mobs of the same name, some which dazzle works, some GoK, some none of them! it's trainy and stuff, but that wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the behavior of mez.

Cleric, Rogue, and Shaman found so far, I'm pleased with all of them, I think there's a more than decent shot that we'll be happy with what we will be getting too! Getting exciting

the faction you win doing quest part ( don t remember it curently ) is only for ench epic or all new epic ??

caused i got a npc dubious that i can get aimable with colaboration but don't know what to tell him, tried what about the lost scroll and like ...

he is in sol temple wearing a gray roobe that is ( ac only :/
i losed the quest factino trying to kill himm meaning he is part of quest ench if the fqction is ench quest only...
