Cinema Update to Version 1.1.5 (U.S. Only)

Avid Cinema v1.1.5 supports Mac OS 7.6.1 and Mac OS 8.0. It also fixes some problems with earlier versions of Avid Cinema. Please click the readme below to learn about the changes in v1.1.5 and for instructions on how to install this update. You must be running Mac OS 7.6.1 or Mac OS 8.0 in order to use this upgrade.

This download will update US English Avid Cinema v 1.1, v1.1.1, v1.1.2, v1.1.3 and v1.1.4 to the new 1.1.5 version. Customers running Avid Cinema v1.0 must download and update to v1.1 (below) before proceding with this 1.1.5 update.

Special Note to 5500/6500 customers: Please click the readme below for additional information on upgrading to version 1.1.5 if you have moved your Cinema application from a Macintosh 6400, or if are currently running a version of Avid Cinema 1.1.1 or earlier.

BETA RELEASE: Avid Cinema Extension for 8600/250 or 8600/300 Power Macintosh computers, or Power Macintosh machines upated with the 233 mHz upgrade card.
If you are running Avid Cinema in a Power Macintosh 8600/250 or 8600/300, or have upgraded your Power Macintosh with Apple's 233 mHz processor upgrade card, you need a new version of the Avid Cinema extension.

This new version of the Avid Cinema extension is still in beta testing has not been officially released-- however it has shown sufficient stability to warrant an early posting to the public. Please read the entire readme before installing this file to understand the issues Avid Cinema has found in its testing. Total file size is about 2.6MB.

Avid Cinema Extension for 5500/6500 Customers

If you are installing Avid Cinema on a Power Macintosh 55xx/65xx model from the Avid Cinema kit version 1.1.1 (which didn't support 55xx/65xx machines), or if you have moved the Avid Cinema card and software from another machine to a 55xx/65xx Power Macintosh, you need the newer 1.1.2 version of the Avid Cinema extension that supports 55xx/65xx model computers.

Customers running Avid Cinema on Power Macintosh 55xx/65xx machines must also be running Mac OS version 7.6.1 or 8.0.

If you have Avid Cinema software version 1.1.1 or earlier on a 5500/6500, you must download the Avid Cinema 1.1.5 update from the Avid Cinema website (above) after downloading this extension.

Note: If you are running Mac OS 7.6.1, verify that you have these three extensions installed and active in your extensions folder:

  • 5500/6500 ATA Update
  • 55xx/65xx Video Input Update
  • AudioTuneUp
If you do not have these extensions installed and you are running Mac OS 7.6.1 on a Power Macintosh, go to Apple's website and download the 5500-6500 Extras 1.0 file, which contains these three extensions for optimal Avid Cinema performance on these platforms. If you are running Mac OS 8.0, you do not need these extensions.

Cinema Update to Version 1.1

This download will update Cinema v 1.0 to the new 1.1 version. All customers running Avid Cinema 1.0 should update to this version.

Total file size is about 5MB; you can download the full file or the individual 3 segments separately.

Object Support Library Fix

This download corrects an extension conflict between Avid Cinema and AOL. Replace your current ObjectSupportLib file (inside your extensions folder) with this new 1.2 version and restart your computer. See the FAQ sheet in our Support section for a more detailed explanation of this problem. Total file size is about 45K.
