Focus is the Legal Services Commission's newsletter. It is produced
approximately four times a year and contains important information,
guidance material and legal updates. Focus is not strictly quarterly,
as it is produced whenever we need to communicate information to
the profession, rather than according to a rigid timetable. Copies
are sent automatically to all account holders.
Focus contains:
-
News about recent events, decisions, announcements and initiatives
-
Invitations to participate in the projects and consultations
that will help to shape the future of legal funding
-
Timetables of all the key dates and deadlines for consultations,
franchising and contracting
-
Updates on ongoing pilots, projects and systems
-
New eligibility rates every spring and updates on remuneration
-
Points of principle - summaries of important decisions made
by the costs appeals committee
-
Guidance - a summary of the latest changes
-
Payment dates
It is important that all staff who do publicly funded legal work
read Focus. Legal funding is undergoing a period of fundamental
reform. At this time of change Focus is essential in order to understand
the operation of the reformed scheme and the implications of the
initiatives for the future.
The index to focus
contains an alphabetical listing by subject of all articles published
in Focus since issue 1 in Spring 1991. Copies of past issues of
Focus from number 26 are available on this site in PDF format .
