THE REMPLOY CHARTER
Our "mission" statement
'to expand the opportunities for disabled people in sustainable
work both within Remploy and externally'
Our Stakeholders
The Charter lists five groups of people who have an interest and "rights" in our
company.
They are:
- Customers - who give us their business so we can
build ours
- People with disabilities - for whom we work,
helping with training and career development
- Government - who provide us with funds to support
our business and expect a flow-back on that investment
- Employees - who provide the skill, work and
commitment
- Suppliers - who provide us with the goods and
services we need to run our business
Our Company values
The Company operates by a set of values and ethics
- respect for the dignity of the individual
employee
- integrity and honesty in our dealings
- innovation, the seeking and acceptance of change,
and the prompt adoption of relevant techniques
- highest achievable performance standards from all
employees
- concern for health, safety and the environment
- adherence not only to the letter, but also to the spirit of the law,
and accepted standards of behaviour.
- professional management using best practice
procedures
The Way Forward
The Charter also sets out the path we will follow to fulfil our Mission in the future.
These are our "long-term goals". What we will be doing over the next one to
three years - our "short" and "medium-term" goals.
Managing our business
With managers and employees working in partnership we can ensure the financial success of
our Company and improve working opportunities for disabled people. Managing means;
- improving financial performance and controlling
costs
- aiming for the best practices and highest
standards in everything we do
- seeking continual improvement through total
quality process; continually learning from our experiences and from those of
others.
- promoting safety - and being safe - throughout
Remploy
- seeking new business opportunities for our
products and services through vigorous and effective marketing.
Working with customers and suppliers
We believe that building partnerships with our customers and suppliers helps them
to help us;
- setting high standards of customer
service
- seeking quality goods and service from suppliers;
building partnerships with them
Together with our employees
All stakeholders share a partnership in the company - and the most important partnership
of all is that between those who manage and work for Remploy. Together we will;
- train and develop people,
especially our disabled employees, to meet their individual needs and those of the
business
- encourage flexible attitudes and practices
- let the people closest to the action take
responsibility and make decisions
In the Community
We will never forget that Remploy must set an example. We must;
- strengthen the image of Remploy as the leading provider of
supported employment in Britain
