REBRA — Rede de Escritoras Brasileiras (Brazilian Women Writers' Net) is a non governmental, non profitable association (NGO), which renders services and assembles women writers in Brazil.
Founded on a Women's International Day, March 8, 1999, REBRA wants to level the great injustice that women writers in Brazil, in particular and Brazilian women in general, have suffered and continue to suffer whenever excluded from the historical records of our society.
We have made a public commitment to literature, culture and social justice, understanding that the ideas expressed in written have the power to change human society completely. And this is exactly Rebra's main object and purpose: the improvement of Brazilian society in particular and of Humanity, in general, by means of what is written by their women.
We work in cooperation with a world wide organization with head offices in the United States of America, WWORLD — Women's World Organization For Culture, Literature and Development.
In Latin America, we work in partnership with RELAT — REDE DE ESCRITORAS LATINOAMERICANAS, with head offices in Peru, which acts in the South American countries and in Mexico.
Our guidelines:
1— To permanently defend women's universal rights. We invite any and all who agree with and share these same ideals, to visit our homepage and become more familiar with our work. REBRA BOOKSTORE |
