With the pirates of Gunthak. I was hunting on Seafury Isle the other day when I killed the little halfling captain in the pirate camp. this spawned a *lesser spirit*. It didn't attack me or anything.. think next time I see it, I'll try hailing it.

I believe that the spirit you are talking about is part of the shaman quest.

Just a quick note... If you are going to pickpocket the giant, doesn't that kind of suck for the other people that need the spoon, since he isn't really going to "re-pop" just the spoon... Does he de-pop on his own? Or would someone eventually have to kill him anyways to get a new one with the spoon?

You guys are making this quest exciting!

Either way, the lucky SoB who finds Cazel will get the spoon. The good thing about having a rogue get it for you is you don't need your guild to come kill it Although that comment about not pocketpicking 45+ mobs sounds familiar...perhaps 50+ can do it? Because of Kunark? Only reason they'd make the spoon nonmagical AND no drop imho though.

Any mob can be pickpocketed. In fact, part of the Rogue superquest involves pickpocketing a couple lvl 60 Guildmasters.

Actually... those guildmasters aren't level 60... they aer lvl 45 or so... just extremely powerful for their level. they were blue to a 48 enchanter we took with us when one of our rogues did it (before patch before last, hehe, they would only spawn with one note on them at a time and the guildmasters had to be killed after someone had picked the note once, so we killed them a few times, they are easily killable with one group, about as hard as an ilis knight :P)

anyway, no, mobs over level 48 cannot be picked.

Update on the Felia Goldenwing issue:

I complained about the fact that she is KOS to the entire Skyfire zone (along with the fact that she is a rare spawn in a random location in a HUGE zone), making it extemely HARD to get her safely when she spawns. I had a VI person respond saying its fixed in next patch. Hope this makes it easier for everyone...

Thanks Ver! Thats gonna save me a ton of time in skyfire I seem to have kept missing her by meer seconds!

Also i went up to sky, bought the 1cp key that looks like a jade, went to the room only to find nothing..the only npc there was for the mage staff of wind...is that normal? Just curious cause i'm not a sky junkie (yet)

Doesn't sound like you went ALL the way in to the room. As you go in, there is a white robed mage on your right. If you turn left and go in more, there is an ENTIRE room filled with efreeti's. Books is on the FAR left table if its spawned. I got mine last night.

BTW, has anyone gotten the Kindle part of the quest done? If so, could you post some information on the NPC, how hard, and was she soloable? I haven't seen anything posted here as to how hard she was, what level. Thanks.

Kindle was an amazing pain in the ass. (Although spending 2 days in Hate and not getting the damned Vampire Essence is also torquing me off bad)

She wasnt hard to kill (and yes you have to kill her even though she is amiable) but we had 4 and a half groups there so we could have taken down Nagafen with that bunch and had no deaths.

The problem isnt fighting her its getting to her. The pathing in the Hole is laughable at best and the pathing/auto aggro situation in the Ghost Tower is even worse. We managed to get in only by camping everyone out in front of the entrance to the Ghost area and then coming back and buffing /medding to full before quick-pulling and charging up the tower. I think when we go back (shamans need that place too) we'll have an easier time of it but I'd err on the side of caution if I were you.

I know of another bunch who managed to kill the High Scale Kirn (shaman npc near Kindle) with a Rogue and a Shaman who managed to sneak upstairs non aggro after a large army died to the crappy pathing in the tower.

My advice it to get in as fast as you can and then kill Kirn and Kindle and evac out before the lower parts of the tower spawn and create an aggro train up.

Qhue,

This might be a bit off-topic, but I for one don't feel all zones should have the same pathing, number of mobs per encounter, etc. Look at the planes... sometimes you get ridiculous aggro, but it's expected and part of the territory.

I thought it was kind of refreshing to break into a tough spot like the tower, killing and controlling frantically with two groups. Definitely worth the experience.

I have done my 7th full clear zone hate raid since essence was first reported up there and still have not had it drop. If it is this rare , I really hope enchanters dont fight each other for it and allow those farther in the quest to have first rights.

There should be zonal differences, but bad pathign is just bad pathing.

Example of zonal difference: In Nurga the mobs are spaced far between each other with little chance of a runner ever seeing another region of the zone much less picking up help from it, while in Droga the goblins are so tightly packed you are likely as not to train yourself.

Example of bad pathing: You hit the mob and it runs counterclockwise away from you and around a large building, then stops and hovers for a bit before runnning through a wall and then back to where it was before it hits you.

Please find out the name of the green mob and what location it was in. However I'm somewhat leery of this since the name doesnt otherwise appear in any of the things we've been told so far.

Unless that's the name of the protector

can anyone actually verify that vampire essence drops in hate? i dont feel like sorting through a couple hundreds of posts, but it seems like one person mentioned hate, and everyone else seems to have not seen it drop there
