'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' Leaps to VHS and DVD on June 5

Multi-Oscar winning Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon leaps to VHS and DVD on June 5 from Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment.

The PG-13 martial arts romance has grossed over $100 million at the box office -- becoming the most successsful foreign film in history. It has been showered with awards, including four Academy Awards -- for Best Foreign Language Film, Art Direction, Cinematography and Original Score.

Written and directed by Ang Lee (Sense and Sensibility, Ice Storm), Crouching Tiger stars Chow Yun Fat(Anna and the King, The Corruptor, The Replacement Killers), Michelle Yeoh (Tomorrow Never Dies, Supercop), Chang Chen (Happy Together, Mahjong) and Zhang Ziyi (The Road Home, the upcoming Rush Hour 2). James Schamus produced the film with Lee.

The digitally augmented stunts were handled by visual-effects supervisor Rob Hodgson (Immortal Beloved, Armageddon, American Beauty). The stunning martial art's choreography was created by Yuen Wo Ping (The Matrix).

Set against 19th-century China's breathtaking landscape the film's dazzling visual effects include CG matte painting designed to transport audiences to ancient China.
