As part of my site redesign, I gave the Abuse-SDL site a facelift to match. Hope you like it.

I know it's been a long time since I've updated Abuse-SDL, but finally here's a new version. Abuse-SDL 0.5.0 is now available. The big news is that I have been kindly given permission to make the original Abuse datafiles available for download. So if you've been playing with the shareware version grab the full set and see if you can finish the game. The later levels get quite tough. Other notable changes include the ability to customize the keys, and Abuse-SDL now compiles correctly on Solaris. More changes can be found here.
Abuse-SDL is a port of Abuse by Crack Dot Com to Linux using the Simple DirectMedia Layer library. This allows Abuse to run at screen depths greater than 8bpp as well as fullscreen.
Abuse-SDL has the following extra features over the original Abuse:
- Run at any screen depth from 8bpp to 32bpp.
- Run fullscreen or in a window.
- Lock the mouse to the window.
- Mousewheel support for changing weapons.
- Stereo sound.
Abuse-SDL requires the following:
- SDL 1.1.6 or greater.
- A set of datafiles : Registered Abuse, Shareware Abuse, or fRaBs (Free Abuse).
The latest version of Abuse-SDL is 0.5.0 (ChangeLog)
Binaries:Linux i386 (Requires SDL 1.2, glibc 2.2)
Solaris Sparc
Older versions can be found here.
