The purpose of this WHOSIS website (WHO Statistical Information System) is to describe - and to the extent possible provide access to - statistical and epidemiological data and information presently available from the World Health Organization and elsewhere in electronic or other forms. Most WHO technical programmes make information available to the public. The WHOSIS allows the user to search by keywords through the entire WHO website, and globally throughout the WWW.
Under Links to other sources of Health Information you will find additional, health-related search possibilities, such as CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), NIH (US National Institutes of Health), NLM (US National Library of Medicine), etc..
Under Links to National Health-Related Websites we have attempted to collect pointers to Ministry of Health and Central Statistics Office websites for each of our member states.
As you explore from here and encounter various web pages you will also find contact information for persons within technical areas which may be of interest to you, and whom you may wish to contact for further or more detailed information.
There is strong demand for health and health-related data and information from WHO. WHO's new programme on Evidence and Information for Health Policy will be expanding and strengthening the WHO website to facilitate dissemination of a wide range of reliable epidemiological information, burden of disease estimates, projections and routinely collected datasets such as vital registration data.
