| Platinum has released a new 1v1 level in Wheel of Time textures and a ruined keep theme called DM-Ionium. It features excellent gameplay and above average looks, so it's worth a look IMHO. Screenshots here. |

A sunday at ..::LvL. We have another 5 maps for everyone to enjoy today. The maps are again in no real order. Check out 'Qbeast' by Quint, space map and also a GeoComp 2 entry. The other 4 levels are also well worth a look.

Back from L.A. after a short break and checking out E3. ..::LvL has 5
maps to check out today. The maps
are listed in no realy order but 'SK8 PARK' by 187-J4CK4L is a great fun
map. We also have 'GON2 - Back to Navarone' by Quint for Space map fans.

Do you map? ok, but do you map FAST? 
The fourth Turtlemap event is planned for June 8th thru June 15th and YOU can be a part of it! "What da fuck is a Turtlemap, yo?" you say? Well, it's alot like a normal Quake3 map... except you make it in only 1 week. It's always a blast and there are always some great maps made.
Full rules and the signup page can be found here. The Speedmapping Forum is hidden here, where there will be lots of news and screens as the event gets underway. |

I thought I should take a moment and inform any of you interested that I have revamped my website, "TefWeb", over here.
What's more interesting, is the news about my current mapping project, a single player Return to Castle Wolfenstein mission pack, including sample screenshots (go to "RtCW" link on the left on the main page). Or just follow this link.
Also other updates and tidbits there, for instance new pics from Tef Dbl Pack V from last year etc. (yeah, old news now) :) |

| QMass Customs File Mirror Hacked |

Many of you have played on or at least heard of QMass.net's QMap.org Customs server. We run over 250 custom Classic Quake DM levels in a randomized rotation in efforts to expose the works of mappers who are still releasing great maps to the community.
In conjunction with this service, QMass also provides a rather complete file mirror. It used to be a one-stop source for downloading just about any Quake map you could think of that was worth playing. In fact, it housed over 3GB of Quake/2/3 levels, in addition to tons of other files. Many prefer a public FTP to the advertisement-enriched fileservers of today.
Last week the server was hacked, and the intruder wiped the public directory. An enormous amount of data was lost - a collection of gaming related files that had been gathered over the course of 5 years. I need your help to rebuild it. If you have a large collection of Quake maps in their original .zip packages, please contact me at jay@qmass.net so that I can provide upload privileges to you.
As a result of this mess, QMass.net will no longer run a public FTP. All files will have to be downloaded via HTTP at http://files.qmass.net. Still, a freely browsable index is much more easy to navigate than FilePlanet.
