USS Proteus
   
USS Proteus and Submarine Squadron in Tokyo Bay, 2 Sep 1945
This public relations photograph was taken at the end of WW II.
It was the time of of the signing of the surrender documents on board the battleship Missouri.
The Missouri was anchored immediately ahead of the Proteus.
I was in a relief crew and promptly assigned to the large ex Jap Sub I-401 as a Prize Crew Member.

I made six war patrols on board the U.S.S. Tinosa as a Motor Mac.
