The College of Architecture was constructed in 1950. Thirty years later, an addition
to the building was completed which rivals its original neighbor in square footage. Both
are distinguished on campus as the "old" and "new" Architecture
buildings. Averaging more than 3,100 square feet, the college's six studios account for the majority of space Architecture provides. They are three in both the old and new buildings. Classrooms are similar in number to studios with four in the old and three in the new Architecture buildings. Each classroom is equipped with dual slide projectors, an overhead projector, and TV/VCR combinations. Having undergone a complete lighting upgrade in June 1997, Architecture's auditorium is by far the largest seminar space within the college with a seating capacity of 278. Its use ranges from classroom lectures to hosting prominent guest speakers in various architectural and design fields. |
