In Chepino quarter (18 springs and boreholes) the waters are alkaline, hydrocarbonate-sulphate, sodium, fluorine, with lowest mineralization and temperature up to 48 oC. These manifest higher radioactivity. Here one can also find the cold Karst spring Kleptouza that fills two beautiful lakes.

The mineral waters heal rheumatism, arthritis, neuralgia, etc. These are used in balneological health stations, hotels, mineral pools and baths. The mild climate is suitable for the curing of lung diseases.

The territory of the town is first settled by the Thracians (11th C.) in Bulgarian territory. The history of the three villages is related to the forceful conversion to Mohammedanism in 1666. The Church of the Holy Trinity (1816) and the Church of the Holy Virgin.
