Sharks Sign Free Agent Defenseman Bobby Dollas

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today the signing of free agent defenseman Bobby Dollas. In keeping with club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

This season, Dollas, 35, has tallied three points (1 goal, 2 assists) in eight games with the Manitoba Moose of the International Hockey League (IHL).

The six-foot-two, 212 pound native of Montreal, Quebec spent the majority of the 1999-00 campaign with the Calgary Flames and scored 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in 49 contests. In addition, he played in one game for the Ottawa Senators and in 13 games for the Long Beach Ice Dogs of the IHL.

Originally drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in the first round (14th overall) of the 1983 Entry Draft, Dollas has scored 136 points (41 goals, 95 assists) and posted 449 penalty minutes in 625 career NHL games with Winnipeg, Quebec, Detroit, Anaheim, Edmonton, Pittsburgh, Ottawa and Calgary.
