NBC Dominates Wednesday

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002

NBC left the other networks in the dust Wednesday night, while "The Bachelor" and baseball provided a lift for ABC and FOX.

For the night, NBC averaged a 10.3 rating/17 share. ABC and FOX each averaged 6.8/11 to tie for second, followed by CBS, 6.2/10. The WB posted a 4.7/7 in the metered markets, slightly better than UPN's 4.4/6.

NBC also led the way in the adults 18-49 demographic with a 5.2 rating. ABC, 4.3, was next, followed by FOX, 3.5, and CBS, 3.1.

ABC led at 8 p.m. with "My Wife and Kids," 8.4/14, and the season premiere of "George Lopez," 7.1/11. NBC's "Ed" and CBS' "60 Minutes II" each averaged 7.2/12. FOX's coverage of the American League playoffs was fourth. UPN's "Enterprise," 5.1/8, beat the season premiere of "Dawson's Creek" on The WB for fifth.

"The West Wing," 10.9/17, put NBC in front at 9 p.m. "The Bachelor," 7.6/12, finished second for ABC, followed by baseball on FOX. The premiere of "The Amazing Race 3" on CBS fell to fourth at 5.8/9. "Dawson's Creek," 4.7/7, was fifth, ahead of "The Twilight Zone" on UPN.

The season premiere of "Law & Order" averaged 12.8/22 at 10 p.m., making it the highest-rated show of the night. FOX's baseball coverage averaged 6.9/12. CBS' "Presidio Med," 5.6/10, bested rival doctor show "MDs" on ABC.
