Welcome to The ConFurence Group homepage

Upcoming Events hosted by The ConFurence Group:

ConFurence 2003: The Furry West
Yee-haw! and howdy pawdners. Our 15th Annual furry convention is gonna be the most rootin'-tootin', high-falootin', western-style shin-dig for all you dogies and dog-ettes out there, with a special track of fun programming even for the little varmints attending with their kin-folk.

Our Native American furry bretheren are also likely to make a showing, even that infamous trickster, the Coyote.  Spend time in a pow-wow or find your animal spirit... it's all gonna be a part of this year's fun!

Git out yer cowboy hats and six-shooters (rubber-band and silly-string models only, of course) and mosey on up to the bar at the Saloon, Dance yer tail off at the Dance Hall, browse through the Trading Post and shop from your favorite anthropomorphic dealers, gawk at all the pretty pikchers in the ArtShow and Auction, or just show up to have a fun reunion with yer fellow furry friends.

Our confirmed guests this year include the popular artist: Dark Natasha, the incredible fantasy artist: Theresa Mather, anthropomorphic sculptor and long-time fan Ruben Avila, popular filksinger, Leslie Fish, and popular artist, Roy D. PoundsNEW: Rounding up our guest lineup is the one and only Omaha Sternberg, and Comic Book Artist Joe Staton!

Location:  Not only will we be returning to the days of yesteryear, but we are also returning to the fantastic facility we had for CF12 and CF2002.  ConFurence in 2003 will again be held at the Hilton Burbank Airport and Convention Center in Burbank, Californee.  Standard Rooms will be only $102 per night, and Junior Suites will be $135 per night. Contact the Hilton before March 15, 2003 at 818-843-6000 to make your reservation.  If you reserve online, use the 3-letter group code COC to get the correct rates.

Memberships  will be only $35 if you pre-register by November 30, 2002, then they go up to $40 from December 1, 2002 through March 1, 2003. At-door memberships for those critters who wait till the last minute will be $50 per person.

A handy-little pre-registgration form is online in Adobe Acrobat format at http://confurence.net/pre-reg.pdf. You will need the free Adobe Acrobat viewer to view or print the PDF file, which is available from Adobe.com

Events:  We have several exciting events planned for this year's convention, all falling in line with our theme "The Furry West".

Dealers:  Tables are still available in our dealer's room.  Send your physical mailing address to us at dealersroom@confurence.net so we can send an information packet to you in the mail. Dealer's Info packets are expected to mail out the first week of December.

Fan Tables:  If you are involved in another convention, or a fannish group or club, The ConFurence Group will be happy to provide you with free space at our convention to promote your group.  Fan Tables are placed outside the Dealer's Room and are specifically for the purpose of promoting fannish activities, so they cannot be used for retail purposes.  General fund-raising is permitted (Selling shirts from your last event or memberships for your next event, etc.) but retail merchandise not related to your group will not be permitted to be sold at Fan tables. You are free to purchase space in the Dealer's Room if you need to sell merchandise. Contact us at fantables@confurence.net for more information or if you wish to reserve a fan table for ConFurence 2003.

The Ursa Major Awards

The Annual Anthropomorphic Literature and Arts of the Year award, more commonly known as The Ursa Major Awards was presented for the first time during ConFurence 2002.  Making this an annual event, we will again be awarding the Ursa Major Awards at ConFurence 2003.

Pre-registered members of ConFurence must vote before March 15, 2003, but nominations are open to all interested parties from December 1, 2002 through January 3, 2003.  Pre-registered members will receive their official ballots in the mail after nominations have closed.

Join Stamps.com to print your own postage, and ConFurence will receive a $50 referral bonus!

Past Events hosted by The ConFurence Group:

The two-night furry minicon adjacent to Comic-Con International in San Diego (no relation).

2002's CritterConDiego (CCD3) returned to the Holiday Inn on the Bay for our 3rd time in a row, in Downtown San Diego on Friday and Saturday nights during Comic-Con, August 2nd and 3rd, 2002.  The doors openend at 6pm and the party went on until well after 1am each night. Even if you were not attending Comic-Con, admission was only $8 per person.

Fursuiters:  who arrived in their furry costume got in free!

Even though CCD3 took place during the same weekend as Comic-Con International, and in the same city, The ConFurence Group is not related to Comic-Con International in any way.  Our event takes place at night, after the Comic-Con dealer's Room is already closed, and is held in privately rented meeting space.

Paying anthropomorphic tribute to all the movies and books created in the Film-Noir genre, with both past and future settings: Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, la Femme Nikita, Blade Runner, etc... Even "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" qualifies as Furry Noir.

Location:  Returning to the fantastic facility we had for CF12, ConFurence in 2002 will again be held at the Hilton Burbank Airport Hotel and Convention Center in Burbank, California.  Standard Rooms will be only $99 per night, and Junior Suites will be $135 per night.

Download the Pre-registration Form in Adobe PDF format.

CritterConDiego 2
July 20 and 21, 2001

CritterConDiego will be a two-night miniCon adjacent to San Diego's ComiCon International on July 20 and July 21, 2001.

More de-tails to follow.

ZonieCon 4

What's different about a Furry Con in Tucson? Open Carry laws, Model rocketry fun, and the Pima Air Museum, that's what!

ConFurence 11
(was) April 6 to April 9, 2000

The International Anthropomorphic Convention and Exposition
April 6 to April 9, 2000 in Irvine, California

CritterConDiego 1
(was) July 21 and 22, 2000

CritterConDiego was a two-night miniCon adjacent to San Diego's ComiCon International on July 21 and July 22, 2000.

Originally coneived as the logical progression of the increasingly-popular ComiCon Furry Parties, the success of CritterConDiego 1 has proven that a Furry Con adjacent to ComicCon international can definitely work.

CritterConDiego had over 240 people in attendance, and 10 Dealer's Tables all reporting good sales.  Next year: more of the same, only bigger!
