Villanelle for lisa
j
I wanna be a writer, but just scribble, mostly.
I will never
name a character Gregorious, I promise. I threw ten journals in the dumpster,
all poetry.
You wanna look inside my head? Ha! Not me.
But I'd pay the
fare to ride you like a bus.
I wanna be a writer, but just scribble,
mostly.
You gotta know how mean I am, consumed with jealousy? I filled pages all about you, every accusation just. I threw ten journals in the dumpster, all poetry.
But that's fine. You're fine as you (as I know I'd
be).
In a story I
had to read for class I hated Gregorious.
I wanna be a writer, but just scribble, mostly.
Oh well. I don't get it either. Does anybody?
Raelynn loved Gregorious;
she thought him (gulp) glorious.
I threw ten journals in the dumpster, all
poetry.
Perhaps Gregorious for Raelynn was gorgeousness and glory.
But
I thought he was dumb. I won't (anymore) talk about us.
I wanna be a
writer, but just scribble, mostly.
I threw ten journals in the dumpster,
all poetry.
