We are holding an event to update you on recent
changes in the EU and UK guidance on Environmental Fate and Behaviour
and Ecotoxicological Risk Assessment of Pesticides.

Following the discovery of genes conferring resistance
to the QoI group of fungicides (which include all strobilurins) in Septoria
tritici, new guidelines on resistance management in cereals have
been issued by the UK Fungicides Resistance Action Group.

New arrangements for parallel
imports, both commercial and own use, to come into effect on 1 February
2003. Pesticide parallel imports are products purchased from markets
outside the UK which are identical to products already approved for
marketing and use in the UK.

This letter to all approval holders has
been issued following new Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs) legislation. We
will be reviewing approvals of products containing 2,4-D, triasulfuron and
thinfensulfuron to see if approved uses would result in the new MRLs
being exceeded.
