Use the software install and restore disc that came with your computer to install Mac OS X, Mac OS 9, and the applications that came with your PowerBook G4 (1 GHz/867 MHz) computer.

To install Mac OS X

1. Back up essential files, if possible.

2. Insert the software install and restore disc that came with the PowerBook G4 (1 GHz/867 MHz) computer.

3. Click the Install Mac OS X icon.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

5. After selecting the destination disc for installation, click Options and continue following the onscreen instructions.

To install Mac OS 9 and the applications that came with your computer

1. Back up essential files, if possible.

2. Insert the software install and restore disc that came with the PowerBook G4 (1 GHz/867 MHz) computer.

3. Click the Install Applications & Mac OS 9 icon.

4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Note: iPhoto, iTunes, and iMovie are part of Mac OS X. To install them, you must follow the directions for installing Mac OS X.
