Thu, Apr 3, 2003 10:01 AM PDT

LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) - Fast National ratings for Wednesday, April 2, 2003

No one was sent home on Wednesday's "American Idol," but plenty of people stayed home to watch the show.

As a result, FOX led the prime-time ratings with a 9.5 rating/15 share. NBC, 8.5/13, was second, followed by CBS, 6.9/11, and ABC, 5.5/9. The WB averaged 3.2/5 in the metered markets, just beating UPN's 3.1/5.

FOX also led among adults 18-49 with a 7.9 rating. NBC averaged 4.2, ABC 3.6 and CBS 3.0.

"That '70s Show," 6.7/11, and the first half of "American Idol," 10.5/16, gave FOX the lead at 8 p.m. NBC's "Dateline," 6.6/11, was second, with "Star Search" on CBS close behind. "My Wife and Kids," 5.9/10, and "George Lopez," 5.7/9, combined to put ABC in fourth. "Enterprise," 4.0/6, on UPN was fifth, beating The WB's "Dawson's Creek."

At 9 p.m., the conclusion of "American Idol," 13.0/19, and "Wanda at Large," 8.0/12, kept FOX in first place. NBC remained in second with "The West Wing," 8.4/13, while "60 Minutes II," 7.0/10, was third for CBS. "The Bachelor," 6.6/10, was an uncharacteristic fourth, although it grew substantially in its second half-hour. The WB moved up to fifth with "Angel," 3.3/5, while "The Twilight Zone" on UPN trailed the pack.

NBC took the lead at 10 p.m. with "Law & Order," 10.6/18. A repeat of "CSI," 7.4/12, finished second for CBS, while "All American Girl" on ABC was third.

  • Ratings information provided is from fast national data. Figures for UPN and The WB are from the overnight metered markets. All numbers are preliminary and subject to change.
