Bolt/invis pulling technique.
I was reading some posts on the safehouse rogue and noticed a thread about the sneak/pulling technique. After undesrtanding how it works, I realized our bolt spells could allow the same kind of single pulling provided you have a partner that can invis.

Here is how sneak pull works : you have two or more mobs at the same spot that can't be pulled single directly but that don't see through sneak, and you have enough room to throw something at them from long range. You turn sneak/hide on, wait for it to refresh, then throw a long range weapon at one of the mobs and just after pressing the range attack hotkey you press the hide/sneak one (with hide first). If you had enough range, you become hidden before the ranged attack hits your target. Thus, the mob comes single.

The exact same thing can probably done with our bolts (scars of sigil comes to mind) and someone else invising us.
scars of sigil is 4.5 casting time while invis is 5.0 casting time. So you get at max range of your target. You cast scars of sigil and your partner casts invis on you at the exact same time (or max one sec later). Provided you had no fizzle problems, you should get a single pull.

Where to use this? Outdoor camps come to mind, like the bulthar one in CB, or the suits of sentient armor ones in WL, that can't be pulled single unless 58+ I think, and that both don't see through invis.
If u have not the right people at disposal to break those camps, this is a technique that seems quite viable. I'll t est as soon as I get the occasion (not really soon alas, I think..) and will report the results.

Any ameliorations that you could think of are very welcome. Anyone knows the casting time on Invis and Itu potions btw? I never had the opportunity or need to use them so far hehe =).

Re: Bolt/invis pulling technique.
I tried this a while back in my 30's with a druid partner. I began casting bolt and he began casting invis.. Shortly after the bolt fired off the invis finished casting and landed on me. It didn't work though. Both the mobs came. We only tried it once, so it -may- work under different conditions.

By the way, I know druids have harmony, we just wanted to experiment to see if it would work :)

Thanks). Won't bother trying then ;) .
Guess it must be another advantage of hide/sneak over invis (like the fact of being able to sell with hide/snek and not with invis).

Seeing that I have a rogue I will have to try this :)

And of course I will have to try this with the mage too. Try firing the bolt the opposite way, making it circle and you'll have even more time.

To get this to work properly you would probably need to make sure the invis hits the bolter before the bolt is done casting. The invis will stick as long as it lands after you start casting. I was using this technique with invis to do cazic ports with my wiz... the mage would start invis and I would start the port right after so the mage could invis me and still have enough time to invis himself.

Does this work using the Dark Elves Hide ability?
