This is a test movie where I was trying out the potential of an idea I had. For a few reasons I have decided to post this movie after all and drop the bigger project (my laziness being the greatest of those).

Credits to the Fragmovies 'R Us crew and TNSe for the technical support he gave me. Oh, one more thing, this was made for the purposes of a movie contest here in Poland.

Finland def. Estonia (9 comments: Threaded, Flat)
  Posted by g33kr4m @ 21:36 GMT, 20 Apr 2003 - iMsg*
(Major News: CS)

A very exciting match for Nations Cup IV today between Finland Finland and Estonia Estonia. In de_dust2, both teams their skills were tested. Rushes and defences proved to work for Estonia Estonia, but Finland Finland used their capabilities to make them come come to a draw. In de_prodigy, the Finnish team dominated through the whole match, resulting in an early victory.

First Mapde_dust2
Finland Finland (T) win 7 to 5
Finland Finland (CT) draw Estonia 6 to 6

Second Mapde_prodigy
Finland Finland (CT) win 11 to 1
Finland Finland (T) win 2 to 0

The skill of the Estonia Estonian team was really showed in this match, eventhough it wasn't enough to beat Finland Finland. The ClanBase report will be out soon.

QLAN TDM playoffs (2 comments: Threaded, Flat)

(Major News: Q3)

It has finally arrived, QLAN TDM Tourney playoffs. 8 teams have qualified for the double elimination brackets, all the favourites have proceeded. Perhaps with the exception of Russia Crazy Russians, I'm not sure if they finished all their group games.

First round of the winners bracket will be:

Sweden Eyeballers -vs- Italy Tulls
Sweden s0et -vs- Sweden N4SA
Sweden QPO -vs- Sweden XP.se
Sweden iCE cLIMBERS -vs- Sweden ActionLigan

WB Round 1 results
Sweden Eyeballers def Italy Tulls : 2 - 0
Sweden QPO def Sweden XP.se : 2 - 0
Sweden iCE cLIMBERS def Sweden ActionLigan : 2 - 0
Fox' massive carnage demo from the first map, pro-q3dm6 can be found here. The second map, dm7, was pretty even, until about the 8th minute mark. Then ic-TOXIC just went completely mad and plasma rushed just about every Action member over and over again. A must see demo from his pov, let's hope we can get our filthy hands on it.

Sweden N4SA def Sweden s0et : 2 - 1

WB Round 2
Sweden Eyeballers def Sweden N4SA : 2 - 0
Sweden QPO lose Sweden iCE cLIMBERS : 0 - 2

WB final
Sweden Eyeballers def Sweden iCE cLIMBERS : 2 - 1

LB Round 1
Italy Tulls def Sweden s0et : 2 - 0
Sweden XP.se lose Sweden ActionLigan : 0 - 2

LB Round 2
Italy Tulls lose Sweden QPO : 0 - 2
Sweden N4SA lose Sweden ActionLigan : 1 - 2

LB Round 3
Sweden QPO def Sweden ActionLigan : 2 - 0

LB Final
Sweden QPO -vs- Sweden iCE cLIMBERS

The brackets can be found here. I guess what most people wonder is, will iCE cLIMBERS get their revenge on Eyeballers since last season's semi-final loss in Clanbase Eurocup?

Clikarena problems (8 comments: Threaded, Flat)
      Posted by Paladia @ 04:03 GMT, 20 Apr 2003 - iMsg
    (Major News: CS)

The first day of the Clikarena Counter-strike Tournament has ended in lot of controversy. First, the organizers decided to completely ignore the seedings, so the groups were put together at random. This created some quite odds groups, for example Sweden GoL, Denmark Level, Germany mTw.aTn and United States of America 3D are all in the same group.

    Full Report
The arrangers told everyone that there would be no HLTV what so ever for the entire tournament which caused a major uproar on IRC. The reason was that they had lost the password to the router and obtaining it again would be impossible. Though when the day was coming to and end they actually got HLTV up and running, so hopefully it will work tomorrow.

Because of huge delays, partly because of trouble with the servers, only two groups actually are finished. Sweden ESU.9 were even allowed to replay their game because the server was so laggy (how you manage to run a laggy LAN-server is beyond understanding). So this leaves two groups, the winner/loser bracket and finals for tomorrow. On top of that the female counter-strike tournament should be played. But there is more to that story.

At 21:00 the tournament had to close because of security reasons, which is some what understandable. So everyone had to leave. What is really odd is that all the females was asked in secret to stay and play the female tournament after everyone, including the press, had left. Amadeus from ESU heard rumours about it from a fellow female gamer and decided to try to linger even though he was asked to leave. He even asked the head-admin of the female tournament if the females would play after 21:00, but the admin said there would be absolutely no games played that night since they were shutting everything down. However, the female tournament was indeed played in secret after the place had officially closed, without any spectators or press.

Doing this to save time is understandable, but why on earth lie about it? Hopefully they will have a more successful final day.

For more information about the secret female tournament, read the report by Amadeus. Also read the diary by bds for his thoughts on the tournament so far.

QLAN 1v1 update (16 comments: Threaded, Flat)
      Posted by sizah @ 01:27 GMT, 20 Apr 2003 - iMsg*
    (Major News: Q3)

Finally new news from QLAN again. Only unexpected what I see is that dutch duel player AllpaCt lost to Opium in three maps.
In the other matches, LeXeR defeated toxic, Z4muZ defeated stermy from italy easy with 2-0, fazz over booms in 2 maps, if22 needed 3 maps vs fooki, Cooller won 2-0 vs lanman and Polosatiy lost 2-0 to randlock from AllStars.

The upcoming matches are as follow:
    Russia Cooller vs Sweden randlock
    Netherlands if22 vs Sweden gopher/fox
    Sweden Z4muZ vs Sweden fazz
    Sweden proZaC/Opium vs Russia LeXeR
Intresting games, I expect that proZaC will win over opium and will face LeXeR. fox will win vs gopher and meet if22 in the 1/4 finals of the winnerbrackets.

The brackets can be found from here.

    Update:
GTV has finally arrived. Just in time for one of the biggest matches Sweden fox -vs- Russia Cooller. The match will start about 23.45 CET.

There are now only 4 contenders left in the Winners bracket of the 1on1 tournament. proZaC won in a nice game against LeXeR, first map, which was ztn3tourney1 prozac won with 4-2 and second map, which was q3tourney2, ended 37-0 for proZaC, Good game !

The TDM tournament is proceeding in the shadow of the duel competition. The top 2 teams from each group proceed to the double elimination playoffs. The rumour has it that Clanbase GTVs are showing tdm games.

All group games should be finished by now, but far from all the results have been reported. Some of the groups are therefore a bit behind, but the results will arrive during the day.

    (Major News: Q3)

eSports.pl is offering an interview with purri of the Germany unmatched team. He answers questions about his history of playing, his computer, the unmatched team and about tournaments, in which he'll try to compete in the near future. There is also a question about his thoughts about the e-sports scene. Here is a quote:
How do You see chances in winning EC7? Are You and the others from unmatched thinking of winning this tourney? Or is it just for fun?

A bit of both. We play it for fun but its more fun to win :). But if you ask me honestly, we practice way to little to have a chance to win imo. I'll be very surprised if we end up winning this cup, if we don't start practicing for real soon. We have awesome players on our team, but to little time to practice it seems :/. It's not too late yet, so I hope we manage to get a grip soon.
