AvP: Extinction Preview And Screens - [3:34 by Eldritch] IGN.com have posted a two-page preview of Aliens versus Predator: Extinction, together with a couple of new screenshots displaying the Alien Queen among other things. Be sure to check it out here.
AvP Movie A Reality? - [3:31 by Eldritch] As of the latest news on the grapevine, 20th Century Fox have given Paul Anderson (Resident Evil, Event Horizon) the green light to begin shooting Aliens versus Predator this October in Prague. What's the story? Well, it is set on modern day, in Antarctica, where a couple of people are going to lure a Predator with Alien Eggs as bait. They want to capture it and study it.
There was a short period of doubt that this movie would ever get done since James Cameron (Terminator, Aliens) wanted to make a new Alien movie (if Fox were to drop the AvP project in favour) together with Ridley Scott (Alien, Gladiator). Why they decided to go with the less popular (among fans) Anderson remains a mystery. We'll be sure to keep you updated as more news arise on this matter.

Movie Maniacs 6: Alien Queen - [10:36 by Eldritch] Thanks to Riptorcut for announcing that the Alien Queen model from Movie Maniacs 6 is now out in stores. He says that about every part of her body is able to move for various poses. She comes complete with a stand and a cocooned human, which can be chestbursted! Sure sounds like the nastiest model so far. Be sure to get this baby at your local model-shop.

Weaver Speaks Of Alien Movies - [16:11 by Eldritch] Sigourney Weaver speaks to Zap2it about a fifth Alien movie taking place on earth, and sixth that takes place on the "navigator home turf" (probably the jockey species). Alien Re-release To Bring Extras? - [15:43 by Eldritch] The upcoming re-release of Alien for theatres is said to be an extended version, with no less than 12 minutes of restored footage. If this is what we'll get, or just a false rumor, no one but 20th Century Fox knows. The rumors sure do sound interesting, and they speculate that the re-inserted scenes are the ones that exists on the laserdisc/DVD versions of Alien, though this time as part of the story instead of as extras. Keep your fingers crossed!

Alien 25th Anniversary Update - [2:11 by Eldritch] According to Cinescape, there will be an Alien theatrical trailer attached to the showing of The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen in July 11th as a part of the 25th anniversary re-release in theatres. Thanks to Josh.
Alien Quadrilogy Release Date - [2:07 by Eldritch] Creature-Corner.com have posted a small tidbit on the upcoming Alien Quadrilogy boxed set (all 4 Alien movies, complete with extras that span over 9 discs!!!). Included in the tidbit is a release date (potential, not confirmed from official sources yet), and it is Novemeber 11th (wooho, so close to my birthday on the 9th!). I hope you are all marking that date in your calendars as we speak :) Thanks to Sadogoat.
Limited Edition Cloaked Predator Figure - [17:34 by Beanspan] With the interest for AvP figures at a stratospheric level right now, it's only fitting that I point this out. If you join the Collector's Club over at the official McFarlane site, which is free to do, you qualify to order a limited edition 'cloaked' Predator figure for $10.00.
In essence, it's simply a clear recast of the original Pred figure from the Boxed Set- yet even I admit that the figure looks pretty darned cool this way. Hopefully the wristblades are still painted to look like metal, as they never seemed to cloak in the films..

Movie Maniacs VI Officially Available In The U.S - [17:50 by Beanspan] You read that correctly! The newest AvP figures from McFarlane Toys-excluding the boxed Alien Queen, which has yet to see a release- are now available in the good ol' U.S. I've just returned with mine, and in a word.. wow.
The two Predators are little smorgasboards of articulation, (they can do all the cool poses from the films!) and both the Alien Resurrection drone and the dog alien from Alien 3 look very good as well.
My hats off to McFarlane for addressing the criticisms that people had with the first AvP set. Good job, guys! The wait for the Queen boxed set just got a whole lot harder..

"With that out of the way, let's bring you an update on the second zombie fest which is a nice companion piece to a story we reported last week (click here). The Hollywood trades are reporting today that Milla Jovavich's involvement is definite (duh) and second unit director Alexander Witt will be sitting in the director's chair this time around. Paul Anderson has provided a script and his absence from the helm leads one to think just how swamped he must be tackling writing duties on "Aliens vs. Predator" - especially with James Cameron's talk of swaying Fox from dropping the project."

"Alien" Rerelease? - [1:36 by Eldritch] The previous article I posted about mentioned the re-release of Alien, though it never specified any details.
