GXA,
or the Global XML Architecture is the name Microsoft has used
to identify a set of related web service standards. The term,
“GXA” does not appear to be used outside of Microsoft.
Others have referred this collection of specifications as, “Web
Services II” or “WS2”. It is anticipated that
the GXA will move into the Web Services Interoperability group.
At that point, the collection will likely become a profile
and will take on a name like, “WS-I Advanced Profile”.
All of the GXA specifications expand on the three
original web service specifications (SOAP,
UDDI and WSDL).
