Q: How long has Amazon.com been in business?
A: Founder and CEO Jeff Bezos opened the virtual doors of Amazon.com's online store in July 1995. The company was incorporated in 1994 in the state of Washington and reincorporated in 1996 in Delaware. The Company's principal corporate offices are located in Seattle, Washington. Amazon.com completed its initial public offering in May 1997, and its common stock is listed on the Nasdaq National Market under the symbol AMZN.
Q: Does Amazon.com have a Mission or Vision Statement?

Q: When did Amazon.com go public and at what price?
A: Amazon.com went public on May 15, 1997, and the IPO price was $18.00, or $1.50 adjusted for the stocks splits that occurred on June 2, 1998 (2-for-1 split), January 5, 1999 (3-for-1 split), and September 1, 1999 (2-for-1 split).
Q: What is Amazon.com's fiscal year?
A: Amazon.com's fiscal year is based on the calendar year. The last day of the fiscal year is December 31.

A: On July 21, 1999 Amazon.com announced a 2-for-1 split of common shares, effective on September 1, 1999, for stockholders of record on August 12, 1999.

On November 19, 1998, Amazon.com announced a 3-for-1 split of common shares, effective on January 5, 1999, for stockholders of record on December 18, 1998.

On April 27, 1998, Amazon.com announced a 2-for-1 split of common shares, effective on June 2, 1998, for stockholders of record on May 20, 1998.
Q: Does Amazon.com distribute dividends or have a Direct Stock Purchase Plan?
A: We have never declared or paid cash dividends on our common stock. We intend to retain all future earnings to finance future growth and, therefore, do not anticipate paying any cash dividends in the foreseeable future. The Company currently does not offer a Direct Stock Purchase Plan.
Q:  Who is Amazon.com's transfer agent? When should I contact them?
A: Mellon Investor Services is Amazon.com's transfer agent and can be reached at (800) 522-6645. Registered Stockholders -- Stockholders who have physical stock certificates should contact Mellon Investor Services in the event of a name change, a change of address or if their certificate has been lost or stolen. Additionally, if a registered holder has not received a Proxy Statement and Card and Annual Report in advance of the Annual Meeting, Mellon Investor Services is the appropriate contact.

A: If you own stock, but do not have stock certificates, you are a Beneficial Shareholder, and your shares are held for you by a bank or brokerage firm. In this case, please be sure to notify your bank or brokerage in the event of a name or address change, or if you need a Proxy Card & Statement and Annual Report in advance of the Annual Meeting.
