Bots v1.1 Released!

Posted by jv_map on 5-13-2003

A newer mohaa multiplayer bots version (v1.1) has been released! Make sure to upgrade to the next version ( Download Bots Pak v1.1 ). The most important new feature is support for non-respawning matches. You can find a full list of changes at the Bot Changelog page.

It's not a problem if you have the 1.0 version of the bots installed. The newer version will be used if you just extract the jv_bot01.pk3 file to your /main folder. Both paks are stand-alone, so you may remove jv_bot0.pk3 if you have it.

Also a new version of the OpCenter map is released. The map got a new script which allows for a non-respawning round. An issue with the timelimit running out when both targets are rigged has been fixed too. The new OpCenter zip file includes the newer bot scripts, so you don't have to download them separately.

So why not visit the Multiplayer Bot Script page right away?

Mohaa Multiplayer Bots Released!

I've finally found time to finish my multiplayer bots project for Medal of Honor. One map with bots is released, a manual has been written and a SDK is ready for download. The manual still needs some work but the rest is all done. Hop to the Multiplayer Bot Script page to see for yourself.

Happy fragging!

Mohaa Bots Project Page

Posted by Imois on 1-27-2003

Jv_map has finally found the time to knock up a web page for his latest project: Multiplayer Bots for Medal of Honor. On this page you can monitor the progress, check for release dates and watch astonishing image work.

All I can do is suggest that you take a look right now!

Site Redesigned

Posted by Imois on 12-22-2002

As you can see we have redesigned the Freebrief website. The new website should be nicer to look at, easier to navigate and faster to surf.

The site should look best in a modern standards compliant browser. For optimal surfing pleasure we suggest the Phoenix web browser. The site should look good in all Mozilla based browsers though and we made sure it looks acceptable in Internet Explorer.

As well as a site redesign there's another import event to announce: we now have a Medal of Honor: Allied Assault section on the site. Thanks to jv_map this section will feature tutorials, maps and mods for the Medal of Honor game.

Happiness all over the place! Finally the Freebrief website is a truly veteran website for having served over 2 years enthousiastic Quake mappers with revolutionary tools like Particle Studio. Moreover fanatic Quake 3 and Duke Nukem gamers got the possibility to enlarge their maps collection with some of the best maps ever made by the Freebrief team.

Of course Freebrief will not cease growing to a website of magnificent magnitude and possibly a new map or developer tool will soon be delivered from our conveyor belt.

Despite the fact that our visitor counter did not explode like we expected when we launched, we still think our site is a useful resource for level designers all over the world.

We hope to continue the site for a while and we count on your support.

Old wine in new bottles!

Posted by Imois on 1-30-2002

As requested by a few users I have repackaged Particle Studio. The new version includes an off-line manual in pdf format and the two demo maps.

As of now Particle Studio also uses a proper setup program so you can install and remove it later without leaving a trace in the registry. This means you'll have to be very careful or there will be nothing to remember you of this great utility!

Let it snow!

Posted by Imois on 1-11-2002

I made a demo map for Particle Studio demonstrating how to do a snow effect. As the performance hit is small it is now realistic for mappers to include snow in their maps.

This thing is so hot you should grab it now before it melts!

Another Celebration!

I passed my finals and to celebrate I decided to release the source code of Particle Studio .

If you want to know how it works or if you want to add that very special feature, this is your opportunity. However you can also let me do the job and send in a feature request. Chances are I will include your feature in the next version of Particle Studio.

To contact me click on the button with my name above. You may also want to post something in our very own, very pleasant forum.
