in the UK. We provide practical advice and assistance for newly arrived
asylum seekers and long-term commitment to their settlement through community
development work.
We want a society in which refugees are welcome, respected and safe, and

| Campaign against legal aid cuts |
Refugee Action has joined over 75 prominent organisations to call on the government to abandon proposals to cut legal aid available to asylum seekers. The proposed changes would deny vulnerable people access to adequate legal presentation. Good effective legal advice leads to better, quicker decisions on asylum cases. It reduces the need for appeal, saving time and taxpayer's money. Above all, it may save lives. |
