Product Downloads

You can download a complete, fully functional copy of any one of our three command line tools, and use it as a shareware (trial) version to evaluate the program, or as a maintenance update from a previously purchased copy. Links to some of our older (unsupported) products are provided below.

By releasing our products as shareware, we offer you a chance to evaluate them at no cost prior to purchase. You can use your trial copy for 21 days. After that, you will need to either purchase your own registered version or remove the trial copy from your system (for full details see the license agreement). Alternatively, simply order your software now, on-line or via physical delivery, and evaluate it risk-free for up to 90 days under our money-back satisfaction guarantee.

You may want to review some of the following prior to downloading:

Our current products are distributed in .EXE files which function as Windows-based installers (by Wise Solutions) when executed. The installers run on Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, and XP. The installation .EXE files can also be accessed as .ZIP files. If you are running a different operating system (e.g. "plain" DOS, or OS/2), download the .EXE file and unzip it with any unzip program. This will unzip the product files along with a number of extra files used by the automated installer. See the simple instruction in the included Introduction and Installation Guide to perform a manual installation, then use a command similar to the following in the product directory to get rid of the extra files (this assumes you have not installed other non-JP Software files in the product directory which this command would delete):

    *del /q /e file*.dat *wise*.* pro*.dll w32*.*

Files with the .ZIP extension are compressed archives and must be expanded with Microsoft's "Compressed Folders", WinZIP, PKUNZIP, or similar utilities.

Additional Help Files:

A full help file (jphelp.chm for 4NT and Take Command/32, and 4dos.hlp for 4DOS) is already included in the distribution packages offered above. Only download from this section if you need a newer version than what you already have or if you want a different format. If you are using several of our products under the same Windows configuration, you may find it more convenient to only keep one copy of jphelp.chm in your Windows HELP directory ("c:\windows\help"?) instead of several copies in product-specific directories.

  • jphelp.chm: HTML Help version of the 4NT/Take Command/4DOS help file (February 06, 2004 ).
  • jphlppdf.zip: Printable/interactive "jphelp.pdf" version of the 4NT/Take Command/4DOS help file (February 06, 2004 )
  • jphelp.exe: Standalone Windows "ebook" version of the 4NT/Take Command/4DOS help file (February 06, 2004 )
  • jphtml.zip: Local HTML version of our Online Web Help pages (February 06, 2004 ). Extract the files in a separate directory of your choice, then view the included "index.htm" in your web browser.

  • ii50.zip: Printable "ii50.pdf" version of the Introduction and Installation Guide (February 24, 2003 )
  • ref50.zip: Printable "ref50.pdf" version of the original Reference Manual (February 24, 2003 )
Notes:
  • Help files with the .PDF extension use the Adobe Portable Document Format and require a compatible viewer such as the Adobe Acrobat Reader (version 6.0 or newer).
  • Help files with the .CHM extension are in Microsoft's HTML Help format and require the HTML Help Viewer (HH.EXE) included in Windows 98/ME/2K/XP.
  • Help files with the .EXE extension are Win32 "ebook" executables suitable for use under Windows 95/98/ME/2K/XP.
  • Help files with the .HTM extension are in plain HTML suitable for most modern browsers with frames and JavaScript support.
  • Help files with the .HLP extension are in a proprietary format for use with the 4HELP.EXE DOS application included with 4DOS.

Downloading From Alternate Sites

If you have difficulty downloading from our ftp site using the links above or are looking for a closer site from which to download, you may be able to find alternate locations for our product files by querying an FTP Search server such as AllTheWeb or other similar ftp search tools. [It typically takes several days for such engines to start reporting "new" files.]

For example, try the following form to search for unofficial "mirrors" of current JP Software product files.

Find     "jpsoft" directories only     exact size only

(Results will appear in a separate window if your browser allows it)

NOTE: Not all FTPsearch servers are available all the time, nor do they all generate the same results. JP Software has no control over the contents of files found through search services. The restricted search form above attempts to locate files with names (and optionally sizes) matching those of our own current distribution archives, but we have no way of knowing what they contain and whether they are correct, complete, or up-to-date. For files provided directly by JP Software, use the download links shown above.
