Military Alphabet

Dragon Naturally Speaking uses the customary A,B,C's we all learned in kindergarten (or earlier).

However, Dragon Dictate for Windows requires the use of the military alphabet when you want to insert individual letters.  For example, if you dictate the sound 'be' out of context, "B.", "b", "be", or "bee" can show up.  To force the program to recognize "b" or "B" say 'Bravo' instead.

Military Alphabet

Dragon Naturally  Speaking uses the customary A,B,C's we all learned in kindergarten (or earlier).

However, Dragon Dictate for Windows requires the use of the Military Alphabet (AKA:  International Communications Alphabet or Radio Alphabet) when you want to insert individual letters.  For example, if you dictate the sound 'be' out of context, "B.", "b", "be", or "bee" can show up.  To force the program to recognize "b" or "B" say 'Bravo' instead.

A alpha N november
B bravo O oscar
C charlie P papa
D delta Q quebec
E echo R romeo
F foxtrot S sierra
G golf T tango
H hotel U uniform
I india V victor
J juliett W whiskey
K kilo ("key-loh") X xray
L lima ("lee-muh") Y yankee
M mike Z zulu

In Apollo 13 Fred Haise used "omni" for "o" increasing the variation.  That was in the movie, I would think the real astronauts used "oscar" since that's the defined word in the ica.
