Petrova was the former partner of two-time World Champion Sikharulidze. They were twice Junior World
Champions, 1994 and 1995. When he left her to skate with Berezhnaya in 1996, she continued her career with
Pulin. Petrova teamed up with Tikhonov in the summer of 1998. Tikhonov was World Junior Bronze medalist (1989
with Irina Saifutdinova) and has also competed for Japan. After the 1994 season he stopped his competitive
career to skate in shows. He came back to competitive skating because he missed it. They name Olympic
Champions Gordeeva/Grinkov and Mishkutionok/Dmitriev as their idols in skating.
