The votes are in and the fans have spoken! We unveil the winners in our Gamers' Choice Awards. Did your game get chosen? Find out!

Welcome to GameSpy's 2003 Game of the Year Awards! Like the Oscars, except you care.

This year we opted to recognize the Top 10 Best Games for each platform, as well as the best Online Multiplayer games. There are a couple of ways to slice it, so we made some decisions to keep the lists from all repeating themselves: Each Top 10 list is weighted so that it emphasizes the strengths of each platform, such as killer exclusive content. When it came to multiplatform games, we tried to list the title only for the platform that took the most advantage of the game. (Tony Hawk's Underground, for instance, really shined on the PS2 where the multiplayer was the best, even though it was also exceptional for the Xbox, GameCube and GBA.) If you take in all the lists together, you get a really balanced view of what was hot this year, as well as what makes each platform special.

Speaking of Special, we've continued our tradition of giving Best Of special awards for noteworthy titles, trends, and surprises in 2003. Genre awards are noted in the Top 10 (and also in a wrapup on the final page), so you can also see (for example) the best Sports or RPG games for each system. Got it? Dig in! And be sure to tell us your thoughts on the awards!

The moment of truth! What games demanded homage, regardless of platform? Today you get the whole truth, and nothing but!
