Paul Niclausse (born in Metz/France, 1879-1958) was pupil to Ponscarme and Thomas. From 1896 he exhibited regularly at the Salon des Artistes Francais. Niclausse received a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle 1900 and a gold medal in 1921, this was followed by the receipt of the Legion of Honor. He became professor at the Ecole des Art décoratifs and at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.
