A note on the blender icon

The FTR script let you start up blender with window edges by clicking the icons. (blender -w) If you have not set up blender on your system properly, it does not initially show a menu bar on top. Press on maximize button of the window to show the menu bar. (This is not a bug of blender. Please check your console for error messages from blender to see what needs to be done.)

Generic Apprication

1. Download a set of ftr and fti files of the icon you want to install.
   Note: You need to have an access to root priviledges to proceed after this step.
2. Copy the ftr file (which designates properties and icons of files with particular filetypes.) in /usr/lib/filetype/local.
   Please do not forget to make changes to the ftr file accordingly to your system environment, such as tag id numbers.
   For detailed information regarding filetypes and tag numbers, please read here (SGI techpubs).
   Copy the fti files (the actual icon image data files) in /usr/lib/filetype/local/iconlib.

   # cp *.ftr /usr/lib/filetype/local
   # cp *.fti /usr/lib/filetype/local/iconlib
   

3. Do "cd" to the /usr/lib/filetype directory. With root priviledge, type "make" to take the changes into effect.
   Please make sure that you are using the SGI make (/sbin/make) for this procedure, since Makefiles in the directories are designed for the SGI make.

   # cd /usr/lib/filetype
   # MAKE=/sbin/make /sbin/make -u
