History In 1995 Australian singer Gina Gardener was working in the UK, where as a hopeful young starlet she scored a minor hit with Bass Culture's `Love the Life'. During 1996, the re-styled Gina G put the `glamour' back into Australian pop music. Gina G entered the Eurovision Song Contest as the UK entrant with the dance-floor friendly `Ooh . . . Ahh, Just a Little Bit'. Issued as a single, it became a UK #1 hit in April 1996, thereby placing Gina G alongside Sandie Shaw (`Puppet on a String'), Cliff Richard (`Congratulations'), Brotherhood of Man (`Save all Your Kisses for Me') and Bucks Fizz (`Making Your Mind Up') as the only UK Eurovision entries to have topped the UK charts.
`Ooh . . . Ahh, Just a Little Bit' peaked at #5 in Australia during July, as well as reaching #12 in the USA. The follow up, `I Belong to You', made the UK Top 10 (#6) in November and the Australian Top 30 in December. Gina G's third single `Fresh!' was #1 in the UK at the start of 1997. It began its Australian chart run during April and reached a peak of #23 in May. `Fresh!' sold over one million copies worldwide. Gina G issued her debut album Fresh! in May 1997.
Gina G’s new CD single, the soul ballad ‘Every Time I Fall’, came out in February 1998. She followed that a month later with a cover of the Laura Branigan hit ‘Ti Amo’
