As part of the Jubilee Line Extension, a series of transport interchanges was scheduled as part of new urban developments. Canada Water is serviced by both London Underground and LT Buses. The brief required a highly ventilated yet sound absorbent enclosure due to the vicinity of adjacent residential developments. The solution developed consists of a single roof assembly supported longitudinally over a length of 100m supported on 5 columns. The aerofoil structure is clad in metal and the soffit is formed of perforated panels with an acoustic liner. The central spine is designed as a glass crystal and the tips of the wings are glazed to maximise light transmission.
