Consumer Complaints Service
The Consumer Complaints Service is the part of the Law Society which helps you if you have a problem with your solicitor.

We deal with:
  • complaints from clients about poor service
  • applications for remuneration certificates (where we check if your solicitor's bill is fair)

We also receive reports about professional misconduct by solicitors.

Our helpline number is 0845 608 6565. Lines are open from 9 to 5, Monday to Friday.

The service is monitored by an Independent Commissioner, Sir Stephen Lander.
