Meeting Friday

The guild will be having a sort of get together meeting to make sure everyone is on the same page this Friday at 8pm EST in #kultiras on irc.stratics.com. You may need to adjust your port to 6668.

If you can be there, be there, its time we started getting organized. Gilthore has the page up and I know there are a good number of us out there that were planning on doing this guild. Now its time to put it together.

Kul Tiras History Posted!

Members! Check the Marine Quarters forum for a good bit of information regarding the Nation of Kul Tiras and its history. I have also posted several maps in a separate thread on the same forum for the lot of you to look at.

To the public: This means that a history section will be on the way very soon! And if there's a demand for it I'll also include a cartography section.

Meeting Soon: Check Forums

The guild will be holding a meeting in mIRC soon to finalize some things. All members are suggested to register on the new boards as we are no longer using the old ones. Once registered, Gilthore can add you and you can access our forums. After that, you can post about when the meeting is best for you.

Refresh Your Browser!

I've taken the music completely off of the site as it really didn't add anything nor was it "special" to anyone of us. Because of the way I have this domain set up I cannot force redirects from the domain control panel so I have constructed a JavaScript to force people to redirect to this news page upon punching in the www.kultirasmarines.com URL in their browser. Be sure to redirect if you're still seeing the music bar at the bottom of this page.

New Patch Stirs Controversy

The patch that Blizzard released yesterday for World of WarCraft had, in just a few hours, stirred large controversy between players. Players felt cheated because of modifications made to Warlocks (which I have not actually looked into) and because of durability being added.

Durability has been added to swords, armor, boots, helms, and shields. Apparently within a few short minutes durability of weapons will drop several points. This takes away from the already low amount of durability most items were assigned with. More negative feedback was given when Blizzard also said that currently there is no way for a player to repair another player's equipment. All repairs had to go through a blacksmith or vendor of some sort. People are already talking about quitting the game and dropping their pre-orders of WoW in light of this patch.

Blizzard has begun to respond to many angry comments on the official WoW forums. I'll post some of the links below as well as the link to the patch notes.

Server Trouble

There was a bit of a hiccup in the Apache servers last night that was causing the SQL database to run extremely slow. Problems started about 7:00 PM EST or so but I believe they've been cleared up by now. If there are any further troubles contact me and I'll get on the horn with the techies.

WoW Zboard?

I've seen Zboards before for Doom 3 but never really paid much attention to them. Blizzard has posted a press release on plans for a WoW Zboard. It looks kind of interesting and pretty useful but the only downside is that the keyboard itself costs about $49.99 in most places and the extra WoW Zboard is an extra $19.99. Quite a bit of money for just a keyboard. Anyway you can find the press release here and here is a picture of the WoW limited edition Zboard.
